Lowry dropping a triple double tonight made me wonder if he has a legit shot at MIP this year. I honestly have no idea who is even in contention. Who ya got?

Kevin Love is even more beasting this season, but he was doing this last year also, only last season he was unnoticed and underrated. So, not really Most Improved now.

Is that Lamar Burton? :lmao

Eric Gordon.

Westbrook.

Both great calls, and in fantasy 'ball they'd go close, but doubt they win the real trophy.

LaMarcus Aldridge.

LaMarcus Aldridge.

Good call. He'll probably come 2nd to Love. Lowry 3rd. Gordon 4th. Westbrook 5th.

Bonner was actually almost laughably predicted to be in true considerationi by one of the Spurs writers I recall and except for his pathetic last two weeks, getting him primed to fade out of importance in the playoffs, he could have made a case!

Writers just doing their best jinx act tbqh.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, knows how Bonner plays in the later stages of a basketball season.

I have to go with Westbrook over Love because OKC is a PO team and T'Wolves suck. Love puts up phenomenal numbers, but Westbrook has become the undeniable leader of his team and seems even faster and more explosive than he was last season and he's a better defender than Love.

Kevin Love was coming off the bench for the past two seasons under Al Jefferson and he was still averaging 14 and 11 in less than 30 min. It suprises me that he's able to average over 15 boards a game but not so much. His rebounding rate ever since he came in to the league has been phenomenal.

While he is having an impressive season this year and probably is going to get most of the votes due to the streak, my vote (if I had one) would go to Demar Derozen. he one of the bright spots in the Rapors organization; very young, plays extremely well off the ball, doesnt force the issue (above 45% shooting while only taking less than a 3 a game, which shows his maturity as a 2nd year player) and a very prolific finisher in transition.

I can only imagine when he comes back next year and adds the 3 point shot to his arsenal. An easy 20ppg guy. But like i said the votes are probably gonna go to Love.

Kevin Love's going to win it, and I don't really have a problem with it. But he's +7 in minutes from a year ago whereas Gordon's +1.4 - Love is +9 to Gordon's +6.2 in Eff.

So Gordon's production has seen a greater increase when minutes are taken into account. Kevin Love ranked 31st in Eff overall last year, Gordon ranked 118th. Love now ranks 1st, Gordon ranks 35th. Love's gonna be a deserving winner, I just like Gordon more and don't think he's getting enough love for his year - and I'd much rather have him on my team if I'm a legit contender.

This would normally go to a Dorrell Wright, someone that's younger and just broke out when given more opportunity. His Eff has gone up 7.9 in 17.5 more minutes. You could go the DJ Augustin route with that thinking too, whose +8.9 in Eff and +15 in minutes this year - though Gortat is leading the league in improved Eff from a year ago, posting a +11.1 in 14.6 more minutes since being traded.

Aldridge definitely deserves to be in the conversation having improved his Eff by 3.8 in only 2.2 more minutes. But that tear he went on has skewed the entirety of his season to a degree, which might actually benefit him with voters. He's now 13th overall in Eff after being 36th last year.

The guy who's really improved and would seemingly be more of what the award is supposed to be about, is Chandler. He's +7.5 in Eff in 5.7 more minutes a game. He ranks 53rd overall in Eff this year after ranking 183rd last year and 126th the year before. He should definitely be one of the top candidates.

To the OP, Lowry's definitely a legit candidate. Somewhat similar to Brooks and Hill from a year ago, he's just not gonna benefit like they did from the competition. But he's +4.9 in Eff playing in 8.4 minutes a game this year. Definitely a legit candidate.

Forgot Westbrook. He's +4 from a year ago in 0.7 more minutes. He's now 16th in the league overall in Eff after being 47th last year. Definitely improved, just not most, imo.
