Seriously, this is beyond ridiculous. 11 this year, and the only two big east births in the sweet 16 were the result of 2nd round big east matchup where the less shitty team won by default.

I'd have been OK with it this year had Villanova vs. Marquette in the play in. As it turns out, Marquette has gone all VCU on the chance to continue their season, but you'll not convince me that the POS late-season Villanova playing in the tourney was better than Colorado or Virginia Tech.

Going forward, they should be. It was absurd to give 1/4th of the at-large bids to one conference, and, after the piss poor showing, it would be a miserable failure to repeat the mistake.

Barkley is exactly right, though... it's not that the team's in the Big East aren't good teams, but they aren't supremely talented. Walker is the only legit superstar and NBA prospect amongst the League. Now this is a bit of a fluke, since Syracuse typically has a few, as does Louisville or Georgetown, but look at the teams currently in it from the larger conferences. Most have a true POY and NBA talent.

A few exceptions, but one reason I liked Morehead State over Louisville is they had that type of talent in Faried while L'ville didn't. Similar thinking with UCLA over Florida.
