I hear that Robert Horry is trying to become only the 3rd player in NBA history to win 3 rings with 3 different teams. Anybody know who the other players are?

GO SPURS GO!

I thought only John Salley had won rings with 3 different teams (Detroit, Chicago, LAL). If so, then Horry would be ony the 2nd player in NBA history to do this (Houston, LAL, SA).

When they interviewed Horry the other night he said he'd be the 2nd player.

I guess that means Robert wants that option next year and to work out another year because this would only be his first with us...

The thing about Horry's 5 rings (soon to be 6), is he came into the league in the middle of Chicago's dominance. There have been only 4 teams other than Chicago winning it all since 1992, when Horry came in. If Horry wins this year, he will have 6 rings on three different teams, and they do not include Chicago, who won it all 6 of his years in the league.

Now that is being one lucky SOB, one guy in the right place at the right time.

Compare that to Tony Massenburg who has been on 12 different team in 14 yrs, and he has never been fortunate enough to grab onto a championship team in all those trades and free agent signings.

Even Steve Kerr who was bounced around the league, landed on 5 championship teams, at exactly the right time ( Chicago and SA).

Horry would be the first to have acually contributed for all 3 teams. :)

Salley only did anything to get one of those rings. As a somewhat used bench player for Detroit. That's some coattailer right there.

Well, he played with The Dream, Shaq, and Timmy. Cant get much luckier then that!! Although, unlike Salley, he has actually contributed to championship teams!!! We may not have won the series against PHX in 5 games if it wasnt for his shooting!

You got that right. The Terp will get his ring after all these years. I am happy for him.
