TD is still a good enough anchor to make a difference for this Spurs team. He can't do it for more than 6 minutes per quarter though. That's fine when they play the Wizards, Nets, and other also rans. But not against quality teams. This next 5 game stretch will be brutal without the big fundamental, although I hope his ankle injury is not that bad.

Yeah I jacked up the math initially. But the fact remains that if TD sits out for an extended period (make it know, I hope he doesn't so you Spur fans don't have an excuse) you guys are gonna get exposed. Especially in these next 5 games. :wakeup

Yor thread it's wrong in every level.

Not only the Spurs won't win only just 4 games for the rest of the season, but Lakers and Phill Jackson aren't stupid like their fans to go all out for the rest of the regular season to get a 1st seed that it's out of reach for quite a while now.

They'd have to "go all out" to garner that second overall seed. Boston & Chicago both have cakewalks. The time to "go all out" has come & gone. It won't come again for another month. Our regrets are our own.

Gait is right. Phil isn't stupid like "we" are.

Phil & the team also isn't scared about going on the road like "we" are.

Why play Pau 38+ minutes per, then? Why is Kobe getting 34 minutes while injured? Why not just do enough to get the 6 or 7th seed if you aren't concerned about road games?

Gait was referencing the top seed (San Antonio) and the mistake it would be for us to try and attain it. I agreed with him.

Even if the Spurs drop a few extra games without Duncan, I can't see them losing the number 1 seed. The team will pull together and win a few games that could end up close. However, that said, if they do start dropping games, look for every contender to try to pass them, not just the Lakers.

I see the capabilities of this team and they could very well go 2001 on the league. After the all star break, they are giving up like 87 ppg. Had they been serious all year (and healthy: remember Bynum missed 24 games to start the season), this would have a historic Laker season in route to #17.

You Spur fans are really believing in your own hype. 57-13 is impressive. But to rely upon role players like Choo Choo Neal and Splitter without TD for significant stretches is asking a bit much, you think? No TD means more minutes for old man Dice (who won't be rested come playoff time like you guys hoped). More pressure will be put on TP and Manu as well to keep the Spur ship afloat.

My thread is very realistic and it frankly scares the shit out of Spur fans like yourself. Your team was relatively healthy all year. Let's see what you guys are made of when faced with a little adversity. The Lakers are 50-20 with Bynum missing 24 games. Imagine what the Lakers would be had he played those 24 games.

So who really is being delusional? Or should I call it being in denial? :lol

With LA and Boston, you throw the records out of the window. It's like Yankees/Red Sox or Cowboys/Skins - in other words a bonafide rivalry. Anytime LA goes into Boston and wins (especially with a roster loaded with players like PP, KG, Rondo, RA) - it's convincing.

The Lakers have done really well managing the minutes for Kobe just how you guys have done with TD. Thing is, Kobe can give us 42/12/9 in a season high: 48 minutes. That means that Kobe can play a full game from time to time if the Lakers need him to. We know LO can (55 minutes last night) and Pau can too (52 minutes).

You know what's funny? If the Suns end up in the 8th spot, history will repeat itself. TD may come back, but he will be out of shape and not 100%. If this happens the magical season you guys have had is fucked. Y'all may need TD to log heavy minutes in order to compete against this Suns team. Will he be able to? I'm not so sure, but your sanity I hope he can.

You need to show some respect for the champs. They did their part in keeping the Suns out of the 8th spot by beating their asses. Show some respect!! :lol

No they won't. What's more important for the Lakers is they come to the playoffs with good momentum and confidence. Collecting 60 wins isn't far-fetched so they can set their eyes on that goal. If I'm LA right now catching the Spurs is going to be the least of my problems because we still have Chicago to tie and Dallas breathing down our necks.

Better wording would be, Spurs loss 6 straight, nearly spent their 7 game lead and still finish up 4 games up on the Lakers. (as of today)

That's how futile the Lakers run was. Spurs losing 6 games, Lakers played their guts out to come within arms reach and still come up short.

The playoffs, well that's a whole other topic of discussion.

I am hoping that Pop is giving the snowman alot of minutes in the regular season and give Tiago major minutes during playoffs time.

Perhaps. We'll have to see. Phil will have him on a short leash. If he proves untrustworthy, Phil will shorten the rotation immediately, and he'll shorten it to as small as 6. Jackson will go to the whip & both spurs as soon as there is a hint of calamity.

At total failure he'll walk away, but, at 3 Peat he can come back.

The Blazers exposed how to beat this Lakers team in the playoffs. All you have to do is push the fucking ball at every opportunity and everyone knows that those lumbering Laker Bigs won't be able to catch up.

And oh, you can double-team those Laker Bigs and now worry about their three-point shots falling because you know they can't make it. The only thing that Lakers can do to maximize that amazing length is to make Kobe sit in one place and shoot three-pointers all day long.

Then again, the Lakers' best three-pointer (Kobe) would rather post up and shoot ridiculous fadeaway jumpers that are bound to lose.

All in all, the Lakers have four post players (Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, and Artest) and no reliable three-point shooter at all.

Good luck with that in playoffs, homos.
