Who has been the biggest thorn in the Spurs' side during the Duncan era? Discuss.

Gee, I wonder.

The easy pick is Kobe, but there have been others that have hurt the Spurs worse during very short stretches. For instance, I would argue that Goran Dragic humiliated the Spurs, making them look like a JV team last year. He was unstoppable and they had absolutely no answer. He's up there for sure.

Goran Dragic is the No. 1 Spurs' nemesis because of one or two games?

The Milwaukee Bucks.

The Milwaukee Bucks.

As far as teams, this is a GREAT pick. It seems like ever since the Glen Robinson days they have always given the Spurs fits. It's like they've had the Spurs' number no matter who was coaching or who was playing. Even after a whole roster overhaul it was still the same story. Spooky!

Not necessarily but I just remember how traumatized I was after that crazy couple of games and the Spurs getting swept out of the playoffs. As a Spurs fan that's about the worst I've felt.

Lol if anyone says any team/person other than the Mavs or Lakers. Personally, I'd choose the Lakers.

One dimensional shooters playing way too many minutes... see Bonner, Finley, and Smith.

Agreed, but you're forgetting one of the definitive one dimensional players we've had the past couple of years

On second thought, is it possible he falls into the zero dimensional category or is that too harsh?

In the first few years of Duncan's carreer, I always considered Malone and the Jazz as the toughest nemesis for the Spurs. Throughout most of Duncan's career, I think that it has been Dirk and the Mavericks.

I agree, minute for minute no one was worse, but bonner takes it through sheer consistency and longevity of suckage and uselessness. Lets not forget he has another 4 years to solidify his position, for all time.

probly have to say the Mavs. We've had epic series with them that could go either way pretty much throughout Dirk/Duncan's career.

Lakers are good but between 03-07 it would've been an easy sweep. The Mavs have been a solid team throughout the decade

Duncan era? Snack Attack and Dirk. Nobody's shattered my dreams over the last 14 years quite like those too. Now that the butthurt has passed (although Dirk still has time to dominate, not so much Shaq), I will always hold them in the highest regard for what they brought against the Spurs.

this.

Kobe/Shaq/Dirk have been the 3 headed Spurs killers throughout their career.

Although I respect Dirk the most because he seems like a likable guy who, like Duncan, never brings any off the court drama to himself

Is it true that RMJ is averaging less than one point per game with the Knicks? The Knicks already suck so my question is, how can he suck so badly on a team that already sucks. He must be destined for the bench on the D League soon or possibly playing in Turkey.

1) Kobe/Phil - knocking us out 4 years in the decade is pretty rough.
2) Shaq - see Kobe/Phil, but just factor in 2001, 2002, and 2004.
3) Dirk - he gets this just for 2006 alone.

lol at people saying the Bucks. I'm sure none of the Spurs care about their regular season losses to the craptacular Bucks.

Good take and I like the word "craptacular". I will have to use that sometime. I think the Bucks were pretty Nemesistic there for awhile though.

Yes, the newer Blazers for sure i.e. Aldridge, Roy, Miller and Batum tended to give them fits before Roy's injury and a little bit thereafter.
