If their winning percentage falls below .800 it will no longer be above .800. But if it happens to go below .800, well, then, we've got something there.

Anyone else care to add to this intense discussion?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they've been below the .800 threshold since the first couple of weeks of the season. Is this a foreshadowing of the future an omen of things to come? Numbers trigger my insecurities as a Spurs fan. I thought I was above this, but alas, I am not.

It's one of those things Pop will say they don't care about but in the back of their minds they want to finish with more than 80% of their games won. They would have to win 66 games to do this. To me, if the Spurs win less than 66 games they are probably not gangbusters like they need to be. The .800 PCT is important to them as they have not relinquished it practically all season.

Semi agreed. I think a 6 month limitation before being being able to start thread would be better.

The OP's threads are as acute as SequSpur's, and the latter litters limitlessly.

Besides, if you want regulation thats what Spursreport is for.

COME on bruh, who cares? Mavs had one in 07, Pistons around it in 06 I believe, what happened? NOTHING. I would hate to see this team win 65 plus games and lose in the earlier rounds, fuck record just get focused and get some wins and ready for the playoffs (If they drop a few more fine, it's expected). I am more worried about health than .800.

In the 35 years that the San Antonio Spurs have been in the NBA, they are averaging 6 wins for every 10 games played.

As of this writing, the Spurs record over the 35-year span is 1710-1117 (.605). That equates to roughly 50 wins per 82-games.

Oh yeah them tits make me smile everytime I look at them! Man that pic on that avi makes me forget about bball sometimes lol. I wish they would stay above .800 though and make it easily to the #1, hell I would take .700 the rest of the way or .600 lol, as long as they nab that #1 seed.

This is really compelling because if you take out the Robinson/Duncan eras, the Spurs were still a winning organization their first 14 seasons.

Makes you wonder if the Spurs will ever be perenial losers over extended amount of seasons like every other franchise save for the Fake Show and Jazz.

As long as the Spurs FO remains the smartest in the business, they are likely to remain contenders regardless of draft position and other factors that would make normal teams rise or fall.

LOL yeah. Most of the NBA champs have been below .800. Only 7 champs in the past 20 years were 66 or more wins. So falling below .800 isn't per se dangerous and in fact might work in your favor if you are the 67 win first round out Mavs.

The OP makes it sound as if home-court advantage is determined by a .800 threshold, as opposed to comparing one's win-loss record against that of other teams.

In case there is any confusion, the OP was making a joke about how silly caring about the .800 threshold really is. Its a play on the insecurity of Spurs fans who panic after every loss.

OK?

Cheers buddies!!! GO SPURS GO!
