SAN ANTONIO, TX - The San Antonio Spurs have proven so far that age doesn't matter, and now it looks like they're going to have to prove it.
All-star forward and team leader Tim Duncan's ankle sprain against the Golden State Warriors on March 21 has proven to be more serious than initially reported. In a statement released to the press this evening, a team spokesman reported that Duncan will "likely miss the remaining weeks of the season and at least the first and second round of the playoffs".
Dr Jeffrey Kuntstenburger, a geriatric medicine specialist at Southwest General Hospital told reporters that Duncan's ankle "looks like that of an 80-year old" and that Duncan really should think about "having a cup of tea and a good lie down".
"Someone his age should be thanking his lucky stars he's not got Parkinsons' or some shit," said Dr Kuntstenberger "I'm surprised he can get up each morning to be quite honest for what it's worth."
Spurs' coach Greg Popovich said he wasn't sure what the solution is to losing the man who boosts the mean age of the Spurs up by 20%, but he said "it sure as shit ain't going to be that soft-ass useless Brazillian Splitter"
