View Full Version : Pop Lite no difference, bad lineups, no size, no calls Spurs lose

Uneven subsitute coaching - totally waste a fine effort by a game Hill.

"Pop-lite" sigh brings Bonner and Blair in when the Grizzlies could not be stopped on defensively. The calls were often home-cooked, but this one is totally on the Spurs and their coaching staff; as again they had a lead with a few minutes left and blew it. No excuses, even with the injuries just another bad and preventable loss.

55% from the Grizz will not get it done and 40-27 on boards and Splitter sits, even with 2 fouls why the hell did he sit?

Give them all but Hill, an F, and maybe a B for Neal, but the rest could not handle the pressure and gagged so much that if I could have got a hold of their necks I would have given a tracheostomy to each. Without a hard look evaluation by these star players and most of all the coaches, it is time to move on.

Somehow, these coaches have to dramatically change the approach, and some of the Spurs core must get mentally toughter, or it will be a first round exit (or at best a easy 2nd round repeat of the Sun's disaster) with or without a healthy Duncan.

Maybe the only blessing is that the trash on the floor (excepting Hill and Neal) did not pull it out without Splitter or Duncan - I hold hope that maybe, somehow it will work out.

Hilarious how Elliott and Land are drooling over Budenholzer's performance. They lost, let's limit the props. Bud and co. aren't working for charity. Bud and everyone sucked.

I don't know what the hell the coaches are thinking... Blair and Bonner combo is idiotic. Jefferson and Parker choking doesn't help either.

We are in 2011.Mobiles,(phones,balckberrys...etc) everywhere. If he wants Pop easily could coach every game from his home.

He could be out of the court but he is the coach.

This game bothers even more 14 h or so later than the total Fup that was Blazers as AGAIN THERE WAS absolutely no reason to go small when you are getting hammered on the boards and inside. Splitter and Dice or Spitter and Blair until Splitter fouls out, Moreover again late 4th Spurs battle for a lead then fold with an out-matched lineup on the floor.

Spurs better come out with all kinds of intensity and at least payback Blazers to take the stank that is much of the team but is really mainly on the coaches

You know that's not going to happen. No doubt they view our regular season record as unimpeachable validation of their approach.

I'm convinced more and more that the reason we didn't see Splitter in the 4th is because Pop doesn't want to disrupt his playoff rotations.

We will not see Splitter in the playoffs. His ass being glued to the bench in the 4th these past few games is the tell. Nothing can change Pop's mind, not even Splitter playing well.

Time to start steeling yourself for playoff disappointment.

As far as yesterday's game, I don't understand why they didn't ride the hot hand. Hill had it going and they should've rode him to the end.

No one really knows, wtf the coaching staff is doing latelly. It seems to me since the lakers beatdown, they've been in panic mode, switching lineups, giving bonner the most minutes of the biggs, while he's been sucking ass all month. I think they're having a meltdown, tbh.

Once Pop was ejected i figured Bud wasnt gonna play Splitter in the 4th.

IMO, this would have been showing up POP.

Isn't Duncan at home watching this? Can't he see what so many of us are seeing and say something?

Only bright spot is that Hill finally has a great road game. I thought they should have played Neal more (only 21 mins) and RJ less. Neal's very capable of catching fire and putting up numbers on the board quickly.
