Nuggets: out score them 14-13
Blazers: get outscored 22-10
Grizzlies: get outscored 22-10
Blazers: get outscored 24-11
this tells me two things:
1. the team is gassed by the time the 4th qtr comes around
2. they have mentally collapsed with turnovers/bad shot selection in the most crucial parts of the game. :bang
what see you?

We can't get stops... bottom line. Which puts enormous pressure on the offense.

And Tiago was the best big on D in those 3 games never saw any action in the 4th.
We finish games at Denver and at Portland with small ball and today with Bonner. We'll never get stops with those lineups

Exactly. It is the sub standard defense combined with no gas. You can see it, just like you saw it in the Suns series.
The Spurs are trying hard, but they can't sustain the energy for an entire game. By the time the fourth rolls around, they are out of juice and they can't hold anyone off.
Despite the managed minutes, the pace of trying to lead the West all year has caught up.

good post
I hope it's just bad execution and not us getting gassed
in the playoffs I believe our concentration will be alot better, and that's good for the experience we have.
Unless someone pulls a Dragic on us.

When you need stops and you go with players who have time and time again demonstrated that they're defensive liabilities, it's NOT "bad execution."

no Tim
no Tim
But Duncan isn`t go to guy. Manu and Tony should finish games, whoever set a pick for them.

YUP. It's called small ball (defense) and the coaching staff probably all have small balls.

If they can get the roster together again at some point, they need to go big with Splitter and Duncan and see if they can rebound and clog the middle. I would prefer that to what is going on now.
Way to many points given up with the up tempo.
Grinding it out for periods of time could help things out.

EVERYONE can see this...
EXCEPT for the coaching staff.

We got stops in the Portland game we just couldn't hang on to the ball. God that game is still eating at me.

Inadequate roster, missing a lockdown defender. Spurs have been pushed around by Memphis the last 2 times they've played. Spurs are playing like pussies when there's 2 minutes or less on the clock. When Bruce was here, no one was coming down the middle of the paint without at least thinking a flying kick was coming.
But, if Tim was playing, the Spurs win all 3 of those games because he secures those needed rebounds to lessen the possessions the other team gets.

This is appears to be Pop's thinking as well: "Well, Tim's not available, so I don't have any options."
Institutional rot has set in.

Since the laker loss spurs have gone down the drain. It has been obvious from the start of the season that blair isn't a starter, and will not do well in the playoffs, due to his lack of size. Yet, pop still went with him, gave him minutes, instead of developing splitter. Well after lakers destroyed the spurs, pop finally figured it out, but its too late. His tinkering has ruined spurs chemistry, and left our bench with no center, that he chooses to play. There is no way this team will win a championship playing bonner/blair extended minutes. Pop is losing it, it does appear that it was duncan that made him look good all along.

Batum shutting down Hill = game

At almost exactly 6 minutes left in the game, a key sequence:
6:08, Wallace misses 3, grabs offensive rebound
6:04, Batum hits 3

Oh, and six straight missed 3's five by Neal in the fourth. Nice.
