As of late, the roster has expanded, signing Steve Novak, & Danny Green for the rest of the season, plus signing Da'Sean Butler for next season, all seem like strange moves, moves that are very unlikely for Pop, except of course signing Novak who is Pop's favorite one trick pony.

Looking at the trusty bench, it's hard to tell who will be wearing silver & black in the coming years. We have Hill, Blair, Bonner, Neal, Anderson, Splitter, Novak, Quinn, Green, & Butler.

George Hill : He is the one of the best 6th men in the league, this season it may have seemed like he regressed, but he comes up big when it matters, and it's only a matter of minutes and confidence. I can see George Hill being a Spur for years to come.

Dejuan Blair : For a while there, Dejuan was snatching up double double after double double, but ever since Pop moved him from the SL, he hasn't thrived. This season, Blairs size is becoming an obvious liability. Unless Pop moves him to SF(which is right for his height, but not weight), I don't see Blair remaining on the team, which saddens me.

Matt Bonner : I know this one is sensitive, so let me start by saying, I'm Switzerland in this ongoing argument. But I can't deny what Matty does, he stretches the floor, and that's his sole purpose. His defense CAN be horrid at times, but it can also be adequate at times. & also, his mid game this season seems to be developing. To 90% of ST's dismay, Bonner will be a Spur for a long time.

Gary Neal : It's almost as if Neal was born to play in Pop's system, he had no trouble adapting, he's a natural born Spur. His defense is lacking at times though, but that's the only flaw I see right now in Neal. If Neal continues to be consistent, I see Neal on the Spurs for years to come.

James Anderson : James Anderson hasn't had much time to shine, so it's difficult to say. I think if Pop was going to get rid of him, he would have already. I believe Pop has faith that JA will be a big-time player as he develops. In my opinion, I think if JA is given more playing time, he'd turn heads. This one is a toss-up if he'll be a Spur in the future or not.

Tiago Splitter : Splitter has shown glimpses of brilliance in his game, but his lack of playing time is showing in his most recent performances. I'm just glad that it's obvious that with more playing time, Splitter will begin to show Duncan-esque skill, and patience in the post. There's no way Splitter will not be a Spur in the future.

Steve Novak : A spot on sharpshooter who hasn't really had a chance to show any other type of game outside of perimeter shooting. I believe as soon as Novak's shooting goes stale (and it will) Pop will let him go, which was always the plan.

Chris Quinn : Quinn hasn't played a game in I don't know how long. He is just collecting dust on the bench, in a snazzy outfit every night. It seems as though Quinn just isn't the right PG for the Spurs. Pop only likes him because he can chuck the 3 up as well. I'd like Quinn to get better and thrive in the Spur's system, but Pop won't allow that.

Danny Green : Again, all Pop had Green do when he gave him PT earlier this season, was camp out on the perimeter, so nobodies sure if he has a mid-game, or if he can finish at the rim well. He looks promising though, his defense isn't bad at all, & if Pop doesn't limit him to just shooting the 3, he will be good for us. But sadly, I don't see him as a Spur in the future.

Da'Sean Butler : Butler hasn't had the chance to show anyone anything yet, The Heat discarded him because they were happy with their cast of super-heroes. I think they're going to regret that, because I can see this kid putting up big numbers for us. He is going to be playing with an everlasting chip on his shoulder, & watching several highlights of him in college, tells me that R.C has done it again with a draft steal, this time in the shadows.
