Ya,I saw that the other day. What gets me is that every cd they put out is never like any of the others.
They always do that, for some odd reason. They however make some good music regardless how much they change. I prefer their old albums more though.

Anyone else notice that the band's music increasingly became more dependent on Boyd's voice to carry the songs? Starting with ACLOTM, if you turn the music into instrumentals they started getting boring. I'm not saying it's awful, just predictable. Good band, were probably my favorite in high school along with Glassjaw.
I wish they'd make more songs like "Crowded Elevator" :(

Make Yourself and Morning View. Can't tell them apart.
Their music has been shit since S.C.I.E.N.C.E.

This is what a quality Incubus song sounds like.

Although they got it wrong in claiming the idiot box was the TV. It was actually the computer. (see Facebook)
Incubus seemed to do things backward. You do the same thing first, get the hit then evolve and make a cd that's diverse. Incubus did SCIENCE which was diverse and out there. Make Yourself was a change, which wasn't too bad. But when Morning View came out, it was the same thing. It's like they found the formula that made them famous and stuck with it.
Take a band like Deftones. Their newer stuff is shit too, but at least it's a departure from what got them there.
Basically, if you're going to put shit out, make sure it's different every time.

They need to stop making music... one of my favorite bands when I was in high school, but the talent starts at S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and ends in Morning View... everything since then has been horrid. Of the 2 songs posted so far.... the first one sucks and the second is bland and predictable alt. radio music.

Idiot Box is fucking badass.
You are wrong about the new Deftones album (or newest that is), they sound like they did back in the 90's...a bit heavier.

Disagree, a lot of bands change their style over the years. That doesn't mean they lack talent.

Incubus has unsuccessfully changed their style over the years. They lack the talent or drive to do so... coming from someone who idolized the band at a time in the past, and still listens to their music. They're a lesser example of the degression of Weezer.

Nevermind I found a way to hear the album.
They definitely sound different, but what could you expect after hearing the transformation over the last two albums from their earlier ones?
It's not old incubus, that's for sure. That doesn't necessarily mean it sucks, just a new sound.
Noticed surface to air was not on the track list.
Should have been on the track, probably a b side.
Switchblade sounds good in a very weird way.
In the company of wolves sounds way out of scope for anything Incubus has tried to do thus far.
Instead of looking like a retard I'll give my analysis of each song in one post.
#1-If not now, then when?
Great track overall that introduces the type of vibe Incubus is now trying to impart to listeners.
#2-Promises, Promises.
Probably the fourth best song of this CD. Such a different sound for Incubus.
#3-Friends and Lovers
Mike's creativity is very apparent in this track. Nice easy sound. Fifth best song of the CD imo.
#4-Thieves
Third best song. Lyrics are well in sync with the type of melody this song conveys.
#5-Isadore
I personally don't like songs with a love story context. However, this is not that bad. Pretty weird to hear Incubus sing this type of song under this now soft label.
#6-The Original
This sounds like it was created by a Christian group. Not bad, but okay. Incubus fans who have not heard this song yet are in for a rude awakening.
#7-Defiance
One of the best songs in this album. I would die to play this song on acoustic guitar. Sadly, I don't know how to play guitar. crofl
#8-In the company of wolves
See the above post.
#9-Switchblade
Sounds like old Incubus somewhat. Best track on the CD imo. In some weird way, this song is catchy as fuck.
#10-Adolescents
Second best track on album.
#11-Tomorrow's food
Disappointing track. Thought it would bring more old school incubus.

Wrong.I have followed this group from just about the time they started up.I actually first saw them live when I used to live in cali and four times since..The group as a whole is very talented. From boyd and his intriguing artwork(white fluffy clouds and the murks of the sultry abyss). To mike and his ever evolving guitar play.Hell, even killmore is not your typical dj.Every cd they have put out I can honestly say was diverse, but just about better than the one prior.I have always respected the fact that their music was never recycled and put out on the next cd.Always different. No,I not expecting anything like the old style, but sometimes a musician(or group)put out a cd and you just end up scratching your head.I have listened to the cd a few more times and there are definitely multiple layers I have found.I'm not downing this group by any means, but as far as opinions go for this cd to each his own.

Fyi.The title track sounds like it belongs in some 80's flick.I really dig the second part of In the Company Of Wolves.Ben Kenneys bass line is killer.Which makes wonder what dirk would have done with this song.I also dig Isadore.Ya,it does have that love vibe going on,but I dig it.I gotta agree with you on Tommorrows food, but disagree on switchblade.

I spoke to soon on "The Original". It's not that bad. It certainly doesn't sound like Incubus of prior but it has it's own good quality.

What are you talking about? The tickets for the austin show go on sale 6/25.If you happen to have a presale code, then you can get tickets starting 6/22.
I talked to one of the girls at the backyard,so you should be ok if you want to hit that one up.

Ya,a little more each time I hear it.I think I was more caught off guard with the direction they went.It seems each time I give it a play I find something new.Shouldn't be surprised tho.I don't live near austin either(about hour away),but i'll be dam if I miss that show.I even spent 10 bucks to get one of the presale codes for wed.Which basically means I preordered a cd that I already have, but meh.

I've come to like each song, even "The Original". It's this album's "echo" from morning view.
I wish they would have had more tracks in this album though. I heard one of the preorder album sales includes like 5 more tracks. Surface to air should have been included in this album. It's one of the best "new" Incubus tracks.
I still can't get over switchblade. It sounds pretty tight. My chick digs it too.
