Josh Johnson is 2-0 and had no hitters going into the 7th and 8th innings of his 2 starts. Already looking like a CY sleeper. Nolasco was meh yesterday, but the bullpen surprisingly held up at the end. Nice series win over the Braves. This next series at Philly should be a good early gauge of how we stack up.

Anibal Sanchez was incredible...8 innings of no-hit ball against the team with the best record in baseball (Rockies). Marlins have 3 damn good starters in JJ, Nolasco, and Sanchez. Unfortunately, Volstad and Vasquez are beyond shitty. Still, 12-6 is pretty encouraging thus far.

Sun Life Stadium is on the Dade-Broward county line, out west off the turnpike. So it's far away from both Miami AND Ft. lauderdale residents. Completely retarded, imho. The new park is close to downtown Miami, where the Orange Bowl used to be.

Mike Stanton with the 10th-inning grand slam to pull the Marlins within a game of .500 again. Time to see if they can finally get there this time.

Before the season I made the asinine prediction that Stanton would hit 40 and 100--for a player who had previously only played half a season. He won't get there, but he's at 25 and 67 with 50 games or so left. The guy is 21...gonna be a star imo. He'll be a Yankee, red sox, or Phillie someday:(

Marlins finish 72-90, last in the NL East. Ozzie Guillen is the new manager though and they move into the sweet-looking new Marlins Ballpark next season.

Javy Vasquez was lights-out down the stretch, and I hope to see him back next year, along with a healthy JJ. Sanchez and Nolasco are still good enough starters, but they need one more arm in the rotation and a complete bullpen overhaul.

Signing Mike Stanton to a long-term deal and adding some bats is also imperative. Future is bright though.
