Spurs look great early but Boston still gets seemingly whatever it wants over the Spurs bigs and it is obvious Splitter did not move up in the rotation despite outplaying other bigs.

Cannot fault the bigs so far but in the end it will not help the Spurs down the road. Unless Pop is saving Splitter for the bigger teams and/or for the back to back it not a good sign.

I don't mind it. The only guy you would really match him up with on Boston is Krstic and you really don't need Splitter in to take care of Krstic lol

I am fine with him being the 5th even if he gets some minutes but unless we see him at least 20 minutes in the next two games all his great work the last week went totally for naught. The key problem is not the lack of Splitter but again going small with the crappy lineup Bonner and Blair (Dice with either is at least a salvagable defensive lineup) who only did surprisingly good because they did not face much but it is definetely fools gold.

Unless Pop changes this up this season will end predictably badly, and unless this week shows something to the contrary sadly that seems to be the way Pop is set to have it play out.

I am so, so sick of Bonner and his hustle tonight will only endear him to Pop but he brings nothing else with his lack of hitting 3s.

At least Blair has some talent.

Splitter will get minutes when the Spurs are facing elimination in the 2nd round, he'll play well, and Pop will talk about how he's his favorite player, going into next season..we've seen this before..

BTW, if Splitter doesn't play, this hurts the Pop fanclub's argument of "if X player plays well, he'll earn minutes"..Splitter just had a great stretch of basketball, where he played the best 2-way stretch of any non-Duncan big this season, and he hasn't played a second in the 1st half, so far..

Hopefully Pop puts him in soon..

Been sayin that for months. Pop will give him the George Hill treatment and Pop Lovers will rejoice.

even though pop hasnt played splitter i cant help but laugh when bonners pathetic ass hesitates on wide open 3's and penetrates with no intention of scoring. what a piece of garbage and everytime he misses and gets scored on pop cant help but see the reality

Pop's stubborn approach on strategy, which leads to playing certain players/lineups ultimately hurts the Spurs in the end.

We all saw it in 2006, in 2008, in 2009 and 2010.

2006- No Nazr/45 minutes of small-ball every game-- Got murdered on the glass on both ends. Dallas gets 2nd chance opportunities galore.

2008- Pop sits Bowen and employs non-defensive small ball against Lakers, Spurs blow huge double digit deficit- Lakers win a very important game 1.

2008- Pop sits Kurt Thomas in favor of Ime Udoka and Michael Finley to guard Odom-- Which leads to the Spurs getting killed on the boards once again (like 2006).

2009- Pop sits Hill in favor of Vaughn. (Minor error due to Spurs being pathetic this year; Regardless, Pop didn't employ the best lineup or players to give the team its best fighting chance.)

2010- Pop stubbornly plays Mason and Bogans over and over and over hoping for the law of averages to turn the other way around. This lead to Spurs being crippled in terms of depth come playoff time, when it was apparent Mason and Bogans were just horrible regardless of the law of averages theory.

Had Pop played Hairston/Temple late in the year on a more consistent basis, the Spurs might have had more depth come playoff time, because they would have been more ready. This would have conserved Manu and Tony's energy in the 4th quarters in the Suns series (where they lost nearly every game because the big 3 were dog ass tired and couldn't execute efficiently; thanks to the non-existent bench).

And to those who question-- Really Hairston and Temple?!! Yes really, these two players were very productive in the minutes they received that season. Way more productive than Mason and Bogans for sure.

Pop may be one of the best X's and O's coaches of all time, but it seems part of his brain died in May of 2006.

Splitter needs to play, it's so obvious.

As long as Lakers are healthy, they're the 2011 NBA Champions.

The Spurs have NO chance. Not with this retarded coach and these pussy ass faggot players. Tony Parker, you should have signed elsewhere, not with a bunch of retard fuckheads.
