Who do you think will be finals MVP?

Normally I would say Tim Duncan...but I think Manu will step up big time in the next series.

Tim. The guy's a friggin' stud and his ankles should be feeling a lot better after a week of not taking a game time pounding.

i know we all love Manu but if we win Timmy is going to be the MVP. Simply put if Tim's numbers are not what they were in the two prior finals we won't win and if they are we will and he will be mvp easy.

I would like to think Tim, but the way the media rides Manu's jock, all he will have to do is make an impact (which he usually does) and make a decent amount of flashy circus shots and he'll get it. Now, if Duncan averages 25-30ppg and 12-15rpg, he would beat out Manu.

I thought Kobe deserved it at least one of the three years they won the title but nope they just gave it to Shaq 3 years in a row so who knows what will happen.

I think Manu will be stepping up big time and not just making things happen and motivatin, but posting #'s.
So I voted him for MVP.

It wouldn't let me vote for Beno ;)

Sorry I couldn't put Beno on there, You know he is a class of his own and would dominate the voting. It wouldn't be fair to Beno to compare him to just Tim and Manu.

I'm assuming sports journalists vote on this like with the other awards, yes?

Bad things could happen like bad calls, injuries, and time malfunctions so it's not a sure thing.

If we play Miami: TD. They don't really have a match for him. Shaq's too slow, and Haslem's too short. Mourning plays only limited minutes.
If we play Detroit, it may well be Manu. I'm sure their defense will be packing the lane, so the guards will have to get it done. They have both Sheed and McDyess to play Tim straight up, and Big Ben can help from the weakside.

I still can't believe Manu might win this poll...Its kind of crazy to think how far he has come....and what he has come to mean to this team.

Why can't a Co-Finals-MVP award be handed out......?????

Duncan is the obvious answer. We should change this thread to "Which Matchup Can San Antonio Exploit"? For Example: Damon Jones on Parker

Duncan will get it because if he was healthy he would have gotten it in the regular season.

When Duncan and Parker were playing scared against physical teams like the Nuggets and Sonics Ginobili was the MVP of the Spurs because he didn't let the physical play affect his game. Miami and Detroit are both physical teams just like the Nuggets and Sonics. If Duncan plays half-ass in any of the Finals games like he did in the first 2 rounds and Ginobili steps up to get them a couple of wins then he may very well win Finals MVP over Duncan. It's not unfathomable.

Tim wants it and his determination will lead him to his best Finals ever.
