U.S. government agencies contributed a total of $6 million to assist three institutions that will spearhead intense research and development in the field of nanotechnology.

In a bid to learn more about the budding technology and its effects to people and the environment – may they be beneficial or harmful – the Environmental Protection Agency, in coordination with Britain’s Natural Environment Research Council, is collaborating with the Rice University, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and the University of Kentucky.

Lots of overlap on this topic. I use nanoparticles as part of my research. Some formulations will soon go clinical trials. Seems to me that this needed to happen a few moons ago.
