“During these games, our 3-point percentage has gone in the toilet,” he said. “Our 3-point percentage has gone down, and it’s really been the difference.

“We’ve hung in every game, but you’ve got to shoot it well. There’s really no drill for that. You just have to hope that worm turns and we can shoot better.

“So we’ve got to concentrate on penetrating more, trying to move the ball a little better, and get more open, uncontested shots, and see if the percentage goes up at all.”

Sounds like Pop still wants the Spurs to shoot threes, and probably no Splitter.

Has any other playoff team had this long a losing streak?

On a silver line kinda way I find some solace that the spurs have lost so many games in a row and are still easily one of if not the top seed/s. Any other team loses that many games and they are dead in the water.

abc pregame is going to go nuts on the spurs

For sure.

The Spurs could come in on a 20 game winning streak with a point differential of 15 in that span and they'd still be talking doom and gloom. You can bet they'll talk about the defense (or lack thereof), the injuries, the lack of size off the bench. Then they'll tell us that because of that lack of size, they have no chance against the Lakers and finally, they'll tell us they think the Thunder are the Lakers biggest challengers in the West . . . and they'll do all this in between slobbering over the Lakers, Heat and Bulls and showing shots of Bryant arriving to the game and warming up before the game.

Then in the second game, Van Gundy will continually bring up the size of the Lakers front line and he and Jackson will praise every single thing Bryant does and pretend as if he doesn't get enough credit, even though all they do is credit him. Every call shown on replay, Jackson will say "that's a good call" or "that should have been a foul", if it goes the Lakers way. If it doesn't, he'll say the opposite. Then he'll throw a fit if the Lakers are losing. They'll go into/come out of almost every break by showing/mentioning Bryant, no matter how well or poorly he's playing. All the while, Van Gundy will incessantly complain and nag throughout, catch himself doing it at some point and then pretend as if he has a sense of humor, with a steady stream of forced/bad jokes.

This is EXACTLY what we have...EVERY single time the spurs are on national tv...oh well..we're used to it...

It is pretty comical though...here's another one;

The spurs game will be in a pretty good and contested section and some pretty interesting things are happenin' on the court...

but Gundy and Jackson et al...will be DEEP in a ..."who's the best player between Kobe & Lebron" heated discussion which will take FOREVER...all the while...not even playcalling the game right in front of them...happens EVERY fuckin time...

So Pop is going to sacrifice Blair. Bonner will get significant minutes, no matter what.

If it avoids a Bonner/Blair lineup, I'll take it. All I wanted Pop to do was dump one of them in favor of Splitter.

Great job. The Suns had 16 with like 4 minutes to go and Spurs held them to 20. Now, the Suns are lacking serious talent and they missed a number of easy shots, but the Spurs kept them to 1 shot and done and then they pushed and got good looks of their own.

Spurs 2nd unit, even though they gave up some easy looks, looked 10x better defensively overall with Tiago in there. Not even close. The offense didn't suffer either. This has to be how it is going forward.

It's not just being aggressive. If Hill ever so slightly thinks about his shot it's a guaranteed clank (which is how he played for a large stretch of the season). His play today has no signs of that. He's just letting it fly.

I don't think you can afford to do that. Spurs have to keep the number one seed, especially with the fact NO is the 8th seed now. I just hope Pop can afford to rest Manu the last game of the season (its a back to back).
