Jeff McDonald just tweeted:
Have you tweeted smack talk to George Hill lately? He criticizes "bandwagon people" and "so-called fans" after game.
http://twitter.com/#!/JMcDonald_SAEN
Also:
George Hill: "I don’t think you should be disrespectful just because we’re losing a basketball game.”
...
Fine, Mr. Hill, if someone's cussing you out, I understand if you don't want them following you. I, however, tweeted to him: "Fans don't know what to say to you, Spurs. You really letting everyone down," and I was blocked. Explain the disrespect there.
Bottom line, George Hill needs to stop talking. Really losing respect for him. As long as he plays like today, though, I guess I don't care.

Thank you to all the fake fans for pissing off Hill. I like him better when he's mad so keep up the good work fake fans.
If calling out fake fans is what gets Hill motivated then so be it...Anything to get him playing like the end of last year, really.

George Hill screwed up the Rockets game, but won the game tonight. Such happens over 82 games. Hats off to him today. Good thing for us that Nash was out.

If easy for it to grow at that rate when he treats every thread on ST like it's the "raise your post count" thread in the Troll forum. All he does is repost the same thing 20 times in every thread. Just stop paying attention to him. He's not even a good troll...just an annoyance is all. That's why he's still grey after 13K+ posts.

I disagree. Its a good way to build marketing and develop good PR. Lots of athletes have awesome twitter accounts and do a lot of cool things on them (a LOT raise money for charity).
George had a point, but by now he should just get over it.

Perhaps someone should tell him that if he could ever consistently manufacture a performance like today - both home and on the road - he'd be less likely to get criticized.
Again, since he's got such sensitive, thin skin, my recommendation for him is to stay off Twitter.

Again, I agree with him in he shouldn't stand for random people cussing him out, but judging from my tweet to him that got me blocked, the guy just doesn't want to hear anything negative.

I'm sure he could play better if he'd have a bigger role but right now we have too many weapons. This year we have Neal and Manu is playing more minutes.
The problem isn't Hill. The problem is that his ofensive role is smaller than last year and the team was working so we didn't need more from Hill.
Now when we aren't playing so well he had 3 games of 20+ points in the last 5 if I'm not wrong so he's stepping up.

Disrespect begets disrespect. Don't cry about it. I like the fact that when Hill has something to say, he's going to say it, and if someone puts a finger in his face, he's going to put one in theirs.

Sorry but the guy chose to be in touch with the public and it's not going to be all sweet talk. Super weak that he re-tweets stuff like "Oh I got my George Hill cup at McDonald's," but that he blocks someone for merely saying the team is letting the fans down.

George Hill is the reason the Spurs beat the Mavs last year in the playoffs. I couldn't care less if he is averaging 0 ppg in the reg. season. He proved himself last year.
It may not be smart to call people out on Twitter, but what he said is dead on. He was fearless on the court from the day he show up here, so I guess it shouldn't be surprising that he's fearless off of it, too.
Buncha damn crybabies, getting upset about it. I think some of you have that Fantasy Island image that you're going to run into one of the players in HEB (or on Twitter), impress them with your basketball knowledge and wit, and become close personal friends. Now you're mad at Hill because he's ruined that special feeling. Oh well... maybe you can still become shower-buddies with George Strait or Tommy Lee Jones.

lol @ ppl thinking they own Hill.. players have bad games from time to time.. doesn't mean they're supposed to sit down and shut up after being attacked on twitter..
g.hill blocks the negativity and i would too cuz i dont wanna hear that shit.. it's not like some fan out there's gonna open his eyes to new horizons.. the players themselves know what's going on.. im sure they get veterans and coaches to remind them all about that.. it's not as if we're a team headed for the draft lottery or jostling for the 8th seed.. stop being spoiled and cheer for your damn team

Point 1: Hill's tweets are not up to the Spurs' character of ignoring such from fans. But such is technology that now players interact directly with fans. Hill needs someone from the Spurs FO or his Agent to help manage his tweets. Gotta ignore the negative and stay positive.
Point 2: Point 1 aside, I am appalled at how quickly so many members of SpursTalk turned on their own team. This is a team and coach that has brought us 4 Championships! What other small market NBA team can say that? Not in recent times, that's for sure. Stay positive and stay on the fan wagon. Gotta learn what a fan is I guess. That shouldn't have to be taught. Wow, I hated visiting this board because of the negativity on our own team. I can go to the Dallas or Laker board if I want that. I don't need to read posts from "fans" that tear down our own team. Quite disturbing.

You basically were pouring salt in the wound. You're just a fan, imagine how the players themselves feel, I think the disappointment you felt is a fraction to what he was feeling. He owes you nothing.

If you're so let down by a basketball team that you feel obligated to "tweet" your displeasure to one of its players, I think you need to take stock of your life. Hill shouldn't be responding or bothering with this shit, but that doesn't make it any less pathetic on your end.

Awww poor, Georgie. I should be like "it'll be OK, I still love you, go spurs go." Then, I'd get re-tweeted. Get out of town. My point is he is mentally weak if he put himself on a social network and then he can't handle a single negative comment, and I didn't say he owes me anything.
Also, my point is that he thinks Spurs fans who weren't pleased with the team's six-game losing streak are fake fans. Most of us will be Spurs fans for life. Will he be a Spur for life? Deep inside, fans will keep being fans no matter how bad the team does, but he can't expect fans to be happy with crap like that.
