Mav/Laker fan: Okay, congratulations on your divisional championship. So when is the riverwalk parade for the divisional championship?

One small step, one giant leap for mankind (If it were the mavs they would throw a party tonight all over town!). Mavs get OWNED again, before it was Dirk got hurt and we went too far behind losing those games, but Tim gets hurt and we go 0-4 and lost 6 in a row, so we are now even there and they can STFU! We are dead even now losing our star player and losses in a row basically! Thats the only reason they trailed us though remember?

BTW where is Amarelooms and his gay ass elephants now? :rollin:rollin They are deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

When the Russians were trying to take Afghanistan, there was a joke that one of their air force commanders asked the other one, "By the way... who won the ground war?" (Hopefully that's obvious enough that I don't have to explain the similarities.)

Not yet. I think they need to win 3 more (?)
But it ends the Sun's hope for a playoff berth :(

Ready to overlook this achievement with the Lakers race going on... But this is one hell of an achievement.

Even more so when you look at the division... Compare that to the over hyped bulls and their division full of losing teams!

We treat these things as being pretty insignificant, but to a lot of franchises -- even some of the old line clubs -- winning a division title would be a pretty big deal. Since the merger, the Spurs have won the division title 17 times in 35 seasons. In that span, only the Lakers have won more (18); and only Boston (15) is even close to SA and LAL.

Division Titles Since Merger
18 -- LAL
17 -- SA
15 -- BOS
9 -- DET
8 -- MIL, UTH
7 -- CHI, MIA, SEA/OKC
6 -- DEN, PNX
5 -- ORL, PHIL
4 -- HOU, IND, NJ, PRT
3 -- ATL, DAL, NYK, SAC
2 -- CLE
1 -- MIN, HORNETS, TOR, WAS
NONE -- GST, LAC, MEM

Sweet. We could trade a banner or two to the Grizz for Mayo and it still wouldn't be the worst trade they ever did.

The best the Mavs can finish is 58-24, which is the same the Spurs can finish if they lose their last 5. Since SA won the series this year 3-1, they win the tiebreaker.

If the Lakers win their last 6 games, the Spurs need to win 4 of 5 (they could lose to LA and still win the conference) to guarantee themselves the #1 seed.

Mav/Laker fan: Okay, congratulations on your divisional championship. So when is the riverwalk parade for the divisional championship?

World Championships are obviously what everyone wants but upteen division titles are still cool and the years displayed in the rafters speaks volumes about how this teams has remained competitive for that long. Cept for maybe spoiling fans.

And The Mavericks have three to go with their run of 50 win seasons. Plus none of the big trophies. This is how it's done Cuban you dumb little jackass.

I was hoping for just another 50 win season, instead the Spurs give me this year. As a fan, I could not ask for more out of the regular season.

Right now, the Southwest division is guaranteed to have every team at least .500, and if the Rockets win one more, every team will be above .500 for the season. Has that ever happened before? Insane.

Then again, playing in the toughest division isn't all it's cracked up to be. The Lakers, for example, will have played 18 games against the Southwest division by the end of the season, compared to the Spurs' 16.
