The Detroit Lions Went Ahead And Emailed Their Pre-Draft Player-Visit Plans To Every Team In The League

Brian Hickey — If Commissioner Roger Goodell takes the stage and says, "With the 13th pick in the draft, the Detroit Lions select...," but nobody is watching, is it still totally embarrassing that everybody in the league already knows how that sentence is about to end? Tough to say. Lions fans are used to being sad.

Mike Florio over at Pro Football Talk had a report last night that probably adds another notch to the Millen humilipost (even if he's not around anymore).

Seems as if the silver-and-blue, as required by rule, intended "to send a list of their pre-draft visits to the league."

They instead sent the list to the entire league.

These probably aren't state secrets, but probably help the Giants have a little insider information should they decide to jump up a few spots via trade with the Vikings to grab tackle Tyron Smith with the No. 12 pick. At least Lions coach Jim Schwartz made a valiant spin attempt:

"The fact is, everybody in the league knows. So if everybody in the league knows, it really doesn't matter. And if it's interesting for the fans ... then I'm all for it."

LIONS need to grab OT Tyron Smith, Southern Cal (6-5, 307)

or

the best defensive player available @ #13. Possibly Robert Quinn if he falls that far.
