In the game today he tried two crazy dunks before the halftime and he missed both .. Like come on man .. If u want to make crazy dunks go play for the clippers not the spurs .. If you can't give quality mins. And your just going to miss easy shots, stay on the bench and let splitter play ..

Uhm, that's Pop's decision, not Blair's.

Sometime Blair's problem is he wants every game to be the Rookies-Sophomores game.

Blair is still young so I wouldn't get on him about it.
I just wish he would rebound like he did last year and stop fouling people when he rebounds.

I thought the same thing, when I saw him ricochet that rebound-dunk attempt off the iron, right before the half. Even if the grabbed it with two hands and flushed it, that would've worked.
I don't wanna complain about him too much. However, those plays remind me that he's still very much, an inexperienced player.
I'd also be happy if he cut down the stupid fouls.

When someone dunks the ball, it gets the team fired up. & to be quite honest, I love the fundamental system of the Spurs, but it wouldn't kill them to finish big at the rim once and a while.

I like the way Blair dunks! what do you want him to do? Dunk it softly? Sorry, he cant do that.

Crazy dunks are fine if you make them; but when you don't? Then maybe you should have gone with a regular dunk. Or even a layup. OTOH, seems like Blair's been missing a lot of those as well. I think this is all an indication that he's probably thinking too much and isn't playing with any confidence. He's worried about getting pulled from the lineup altogether. Pop sending him to the bench has completely shot his confidence.

Blair needs to lay off the Twinkies and Ding Dongs and maybe he'd get a little more lift. He's looking a bit pudgy out there lately.

I'd rather have him miss a dunk than getting blocked due to a soft layup or floater

Neither is the stress and torque he puts on them when he tries to dunk from a foot inside the free throw line.

bad thing is that he has all 3 of those things going on

He desperately needs a mid-range jumper. Until he does, it'll be hard to play him consistently deep into the season/playoffs.

would you rather him go up softly and and probably get his shit blocked? He's short for a center and is missing ACL's in his knees! Its a wonder that he can jump in the first place! He has to go up strong everytime and as quickly as possible to get his shot off. He's also still very young and still learning the game, give him some time... I still think he will be amazing in the playoffs!

The spurs need his dunks. Dunk every shot well no of course not. But when he dunks it fires the team up..fires him up... and the fans. He's still young he can get away with it for a lil bit more. Let the the guy try. Cause sure as hell no one else on the the spurs does flash dunks.

A great pickup and player but I agree he needs to quit with the enchiladas and cupcakes. I bet he's gained 30 pounds since he was drafted.

He gets off on the flashy, but it's not his game. I'm worried about the guy, honestly. I think he wants so badly to be a player he's not, and gets too caught up in the highlights instead of simple production, which is what he's out there for.
Needs to check himself, fast, or he won't be here for much longer.

Yeah and the shit is getting ridiculous and he's making me mad as if he tries to blow the games for us...

I would prefer that he never shoots and simply concentrates on rebounding the ball and passing it back out. I konw of one guy who became a hall of famer doing that.

Asking Blair to do what he does best and forget the rest is probably the most logical basketball advice you have ever heard in your life..........
unless you would prefer he start set shooting threes.

He plays with no sense of urgency. He out there looking for hi light plays which he doesn't get and his defense is nonexistent. He did get robbed of a charge, but other than that his guy scored pretty easily. Splitter may be soft on offense but he is amuch better defender than Blair his picks are much better than Blairs and his court awareness is miles ahead of Blairs.

So the choice is between him only rebounding OR shooting threes?
I think you're short selling the potential of Blair and what he can do. He's quick enough and seems to have decent enough post moves to help out with on the offensive end. His short jump shot also seems to have improved some from last year. This being only his second year, seems way to early to give up on that aspect of the game.

His ability to get his shot blocked far out weighs his current ability to put the ball in the basket. look I want him to be great too, but his offensive game is just not that good and takes his concentration away from what is the best part of his game.
The Spurs needs Blair to rebound the ball. If we need Blair to score we are already in trouble. With all of our shooters Blair needs to kick the ball back out.

he needs a jumper, he's worse than Udoka near the rim.
