Really ?!? This morning on espn he was discussing the lakers chances of 3 peating as the 2 seed. After saying that the lakers are not intimidated by the spurs at all, he went on to say "the lakers should be 3-0 versus the spurs, they got a lucky tip in and the other two times they got blown out " are u fuckin serious ?!

LOL, what? The Spurs beat LA by 15 and then 1, and lost by 16. I fail to see how that could ever translate to "should be 0-3".

04-06-2011, 11:56 AM
I can see why they wouldn't be intimidated, but the 3-0 is silly.

I don't care if he thinks the lakers are better. but if he's gonna bring up stats, he needs to know that we beat them by 15 in December. Do some research, Bucher.

Bucher is such a reliable source of information.

Who can forget the summer of 2007 when he boldly predicted that Kobe Bryant would not report to training camp unless the Lakers brought back Jerry West to be GM? Sure enough, West engineered one of the great trades in Laker history just a few months later. Uncanny, that Bucher.

stupid idiot if he really said that.

Spurs dominated game 1
got "lucky" (:rolleyes) tip in in game 2
and got blown out in game 3

Bupkis. We didn't ring out of it. If you don't win the last game in June, everything afore it is nothing but a means to an end that never happened.

So true. Spurs fans, who cares what those outside of "Spursdom" think about this team? I understand its annoying hearing inaccurate comments like Bucher's, but just let it go by the wayside. That is pretty sloppy if he said that, though. The Spurs won handily in December, Mr. Bucher. So maybe the Lakers could be 2-1. But in that game in LA, the Spurs also blew a decent late lead, as well.

I don't think ANYONE was beating them that year.

Maybe, maybe not. The Spurs lead throughout the 2nd half and were up about 7 points midway through the 4th, so if they would've lost that game, it would've been because they choked it...

Looks like a couple of our brethren, in the Spurs fan fraternity, have publically called out Ric Bucher for his recent, inaccurate and nonsensical on-air bullshit, in a recent chat on ESPN SportsNation online. Of course, Euro Ric didn't seem to make it a big deal that his facts were ALL wrong.

http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/37752/nba-with-ric-bucher

Ken (Bay Area, CA)

Hey Ric Bucher, I just watched you on Sportscenter this morining as I respect your opinion about Lakers team to beat. I'm a Spurs fan so atleast get your facts straight you said the lakers are up 2-1 in season series and you said Lakers killed Spurs twice but actually Spurs are up 2-1 and blew the Lakers out in first San Antonio game!!! Thanks for ruining my morning with false info. GO SPURS!

Tommy (Jacksonville, FL)

On sportscenter 4/6 you were saying that the only time the Spurs beat the lakers was a last minute tip in, otherwise there have been blowout wins by the lakers. Make sure you have your history straight before talking on TV, the spurs are 2-1 vs the lakers this year with on of the wins being a spurs blowout.

Ric Bucher (1:12 PM)

Apologies. I did my own research on that one, quickly, before I went on and screwed up. Served as a reminder to double-check my stuff with the real researchers before I go on. Glad you guys are paying attention. Now, onward...

Who the hell cares what some analyst says, they don't determine the outcome of anything, the play on the court does of course.

They say things like that to get you to watch so I guess ESPN; FOX, etc are successful in that regard. It is all about ratings.
