Magic number is still 1 for the #1 seed. 60 wins means shit if it can't get the Spurs the first two games and possibly a game 7 at home vs the Lakers.

Do the Spurs rest the big 3 if they lock it up? Is that the best thing to do?

I think you play them SOME on Saturday if they lock it up tonight. But after that, rest them. They have to avoid injuries at all costs....

What about clinching home court against Chicago? We are only one game up on the loss column on them and I don't know what the tiebreaker status is.

Do they want the #1 overall, or is just #1 in the West good enough?

#1 in the West should be good enough...Chi-town is far from a lock to make the Finals in the East, but SA is all but guaranteed to face LA in the WCF if they make it that far

I think #1 in the West is/was the priority. #1 overall would be great, but isnt necessary....

if the spurs can beat the lakers, they can beat the bulls without HCA. i doubt the bulls will even make it that far.

DPG21920

Spurs couldn't have asked for anything better timing wise. HCA in the west locked well before playoffs start. Now playoff opponents aren't ideal, but at least the spurs have options on how to play out the rest of the season on their end.

Definetly needed the HCA. Hopefully Splitter can get more time, and something miraculous can happen like playoff minutes prior to the game being determined.

My prediction: the last Spurs-Lakers game is going to feature 30+ minutes of Joe Smith, Luke Walton, and Steve Novak.

Lakers now on a losing streak. Gasol nursing an injury. Kobe dinged up. Things are looking up for San Antonio who could make a statement by not losing another regular season game before the playoffs start.

As much as I'd like the guys to rest. I'd like to see more than 25 minutes for Tim, Tony and Manu if they need it so they can keep the winning feeling going into the playoffs.

Thats good, but if they need rest you give it to them now! Thats the luxury of locking this up so early! You rest them if you have to now.
