While Miami would be the preferable choice to the Pistons solely based on degree of difficulty, I want to see the Spurs face the Pistons. They are the defending champs and the Spurs were 0.4* away from facing them in the Finals last year.

The Pistons are not as focused or as deep of a team as they had last year. Last years team if they had Wallace for the beginning of the season would win about 60 games while this year is different.

They could of possibly won 60 games this year, but they were distracted with the fight and had Larry Brown missing for like 15 games.

As a Pistons fan, are you pist (ha!) off at Larry Brown for talking to the Cavs during the playoffs?

So it's the Pistons. They looked tough tonight though, of course, they had the benefit of a missing Wade in Game 6 and a hurt one tonight.

Still, Parker and Ginobili are going to have their hands full in the Finals. If I had to pick two Spurs who are going to have to step up it would be Mohammed and GRob. The Pistons are more than capable of making life hell for the Spurs' 2nd and 3rd options while making TD work for his. It's the other guys who have to make the Pistons pay. Mohammed has to go to war with Timmy D up front.

If Big Dog can find the form he's had throughout his career he can light up the Pistons and earn a ring...

Even before the brawl, Larry was bitching about the Pistons not playing well in the first 3 weeks of the season. they were pretty shitty. the Pacers brawl game brought the Pistons to 4-4.

This was so close to being a back-to-back Finals matchup of the Pistons and Spurs, the 2 best defensive teams the past two years.

You mean the 0.4* champs...

I wasn't aware that game ended your season.

It isn't Detroit's fault that the 04 Spurs had no mental toughness whatsoever.....

Spurs wouldn't have won the title in 1999 if they ahd to playa full season!

Spurs wouldnt have won the title in 03 if Horry's three had gone down in game 5!

You know, since you guys are so quick to asterisk OUR title....

Seattle was closer to the Finals because they went down. Or I thought you were paying attention?

Pistons will be tough but they are nowhere near the level they were at last year. I feel this year's Spurs are better than last year.
