The Knicks have won 7 in a row and Melo already has two game-winners and 1 game-clincher as a Knick. LOL @ all the people who think the Nuggets won that trade.

Denver's peaked. They're going to be out in the 1st round, especially if they get OKC.

lol @ those who think playing in the East is tough. The Knicks have a few good wins, all the rest are against crappy teams
The Nuggets have been the 3rd hottest team since the ASB and are going to win their 50th game tonight. They have a crap load of cap space and a bunch of talented young guys.
Both teams got want they wanted. I think the Nuggets won because they got a good return for a guy who only wanted to play for the one team. I think the Knicks lost because they folded and gave up basically everything the Nuggets asked for
The Nuggets future is bright. Even this season all the so called 'experts' said before the season they were screwed, and yet they are 5th in the West.

Well, both teams have bright futures. And, I certainly agree that the Nuggets did very well in the trade, but so did the Knicks. To me, this was one of the more even "blockbuster" trades we've seen in a long time. The Knicks have two of the ten best players in the world in the respective primes of their careers and the Nuggets have a plethora of young talent and depth at every position. Both teams are match-up nightmares for the higher-seeds in their respective conferences and both are capable of pulling off a first-round upset.
The one thing that has impressed me about both teams since the trade is their stellar play against winning teams. For example, Despite their initial struggles and all of the negative press they have received, the Knicks are 8-4 against winning/playoff teams since the trade. They have wins over Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Memphis (twice). And as we all know, the Nuggets have been utterly spectacular since the trade, posting wins against Dallas, LAL, and San Antonio. I wouldn't want to play either team as a favorite in the first round.

I wouldn't say he is more clutch than Kobe but consider this:
Carmelo Anthony is 19-for-39 in shots that either tie or put his team ahead in the final 10 seconds of regulation or overtime, which is the highest percentage of any active player in those situations since 2003-04.

The Nuggets "bright future" with a shitload of young B-list talent, none of which has any superstar potential whatsoever, is no brighter than the future of teams like Golden State, Philadelphia, Sacramento or Washington that also have a ton of "young talent" that's never gonna lead a team to a championship.

I hope Turkoglu leads Orlando to the 2011 Finals, sweetcheeks. And if I happened not to be there when they arrive I hope he leads 'em on thru.
We could meet again and I'd stuff yer taco, tootsweet.

Idk how Turkoglu could be "leading" a team that also has a top 3 MVP candidate, but I understand that Vietnam syndrome causes some irrational thinking.

Turk took 'em to it last time they got there.

Not really. Anyone who thinks Turkoglu was the best player on the 2009 Magic is either 1) retarded or 2) saw some gruesome shit somewhere in Southeast Asia or 3) both.

You're probably right about the Nuggets not ever contending for a championship the way they are currently built. The one thing that will hurt them is that I don't think they will be able to resign both Chandler and Nene (I could be wrong but I don't see how they get that done)
However, the only amendment I would make to what you wrote is that I think the Nuggets are considerably deeper/more-talented than any of those teams you mentioned.
