It would help if the damn thing had a decent fight scene in it instead of a bunch of blabber and gunfire.

And why do they always choose to focus on Sonya and Jax? Let's take the most boring characters and treat them like Keith Bogans. We've all seen cop movies before; we get it.

It's why they focused on Guile for the Street Fighter movie. It makes the storyline easier and cheaper to write, follow, produce.

I mean, nerds like us would have loved to see a MK movie that focused on the outworld, Baraka, Mileena, and Shao Kahn side of things. But it had to be the Jackie Chan look alike trying to avenge his brother.

A little better. At least there was some decent fighting and incorporation into the MK storyline other than the character's names. IMO they could have packed most of this into Episode 1, and it still comes off as a little B-movie-ish....but I guess it is what it is.

Wake me when Reptile or Scorpion makes an appearance. :wakeup

I had a Kung Lao costume my older brother made for me when I was like 13. Damn, almost 20 years ago now that I think about it.

Of course, I didnt quite have the muscle definition at the time. :p:

It was still a really cool costume though. Had the hat with a blade and everything.... The blade around the hat was spare aluminum from his job at the time. Wasnt sharp or anything but it was much better than tin foil. :lol

damn....sorry to get off topic, but that reminds me of all the cool costumes my brother has made over the years.... Had one costume that was a green tuxedo that had green LED's all over it.... The Ridler.... That shit was fucking PIMP!

Made Jim Carry look like a chump.

picture this.... it was sort of like this but with more zuit suit coat and pants, and all the question marks where green LED lights....... Not as many question marks though.

Found it on youtube and after watching the first minute I actually stopped and searched again for 4. Those FX were so bad that I thought it was just some fan film that had highjacked the opening credits. I still wasn't convinced this was the real deal until I saw the same guy playing Tsung. The whole thing looked like they broke into the LOTR props department.

Well...I like how they tied Baracka...Shao Khan...Mileena...Kitana...Jared...Syndell...all together...good storyline...but the character design looks like complete shit..they totally fucked up Baracka...Shao Khan has always been all roided out...so this guy looks out of place...

Definitely. That was possibly the thing I liked best about the short that they put together last year. They went back to the basics of the original plot (badasses come together for fighting tournament) rather than getting bogged down in the extended mythos of Outworld and found ways to ground some of the more fantastic characters like Baraka and Reptile in "the real world" of their making. I was more willing to stretch to believe that a surgeon turned body modification addicted serial killer also happened to be a martial arts expert than I was able to believe that shit they put out there in the last episode.

Jeebus, that's awful. I'm just baffled by the whole thing. 5 episodes in and there's a total lack of continuity in style. The first two were a little closer to that original short. Or at least something like 24. The third was more tongue in cheek like the first Mortal Kombat movie. And then there's these last two which I guess aspire towards something like an old kung fu epic but are just bad. I wasn't expecting the world from a web series but the first three episodes it felt like the makers were aware of the limitations of their budget and production values and made the best of what they had. These last two seem like they decided to push their limits and succeeded only in showing the audience precisely where those limitations were. The fight scenes are still well done and the animated stretches aren't too bad (I almost wish this entire chapter had just been entirely done that way instead) but every other second of it was tough to watch.

Not completely terrible. They aren't exactly on a Tranformers budget so I don't mind that the last fight was like watching Fox's football robots duke it out.

Laying it on a bit thick with the Wolverine imagery on Cyrax, both with the on table flip out (I'll admit I thought they were going to just make him kill everyone and the final scene would be assigning Sektor to kill him) and then his set of claws at the end.

Or maybe it was every bit as terrible as the others and I don't notice because I never really gave a shit about Ketchup and Mustard.
