Sorry, didn't know if there was a thread on this or that anyone else is watching. I predicted before that I was 99% sure Pistons will win this. Right now score is 9-13 Heat, with Heat shooting 46% and Pistons 36%

Damn, Shaq is looking pretty healthy to me. Someone needs to wake up Billups. Rasheed, and Big Ben. I bet a lot of money on them :(

myhc
06-06-2005, 07:46 PM
Shaq looks like he can go for a monster 30 and 10 night. But its early on and he may tire down the stretch. We'll see. And Wade is a warrior.

I'm still torn as to who I want to win this one. I think that Miami will be easier to beat, but I HATE Shaq!

2. Rip Hamilton looks like he could go for 30 tonight.

And I want the Heat to win. That is the path of least resistance in my opinion.

I don't know. I know Pistons are going to win, but I'd rather play Miami--they seem more beatable.

I swear to god people, even if we see the harder team in the finals (detroit) CHAUNCY BILLUPS IS A ONE TRICK PONY!!!
ive never seen him do anything in my entire life except palm the ball and call it dribbling, and shoot three pointers

1Parker1
06-06-2005, 08:16 PM
I think Wade may step it up in the 4th quarter. Both Miami and Pistons are similiar in that sense that they both have players who know how to, and aren't scared to step it up in the 4th quarter of close, important games: Billups and Wade. I expect the two to trade shot for shot in the 4th if its a close game.

Have you watched any Heat games this season? Wade gets calls if the opposing player breathes on him. Seriously, Wade gets bailed out by the refs so many times in situations where it should be a TO on him.

Its a pretty good point, in my opinion. I think about how they needed seven games to beat the Pacers. The Ron Artestless, 50% O'neal Pacers!! I will never say it's guarenteed but I like our chances.

I've seen enough 6-22 performances by Duncan to know that Wallace is a very effective defender.

1Parker1
06-06-2005, 08:31 PM
Wow, I cannot wait to see the Spurs play against one of these teams! I think Spurs are clearly better then Miami and Pistons--our bench is what puts us over the top, IMO, well and that guy who wears #21. I still think it will be a hard fought series because its the Finals, the stakes are high, and this is the stage where teams find unlikely heros and miracle shots. So anything is possible. God, I love the NBA!! :)

midgetonadonkey
06-06-2005, 08:36 PM
I worry about Prince's defensive ability. He is great and will be a difficult matchup against Ginobili. The Parker-Billups match concerns me as well, but I'm pretty sure that Parker can blow by him more often than not.

I'd rather have Ben Wallace guarding Duncan than Rasheed. Maybe Pop will move Duncan to the 5 and have Horry at the 4 for big parts of the game. Duncan should be able to have success against Ben.

I have no clue i prefer the Pistons. The Heat clog the paint on drives, and with Shaq, that makes it much more harder for inside scores. Pistons are overall a good defensive team, much like the Spurs. I think we can beat either team, but the Miami refs would give us all headaches.

mavsfan1000

Did the ref just run into Billups and then call it a foul on the Pistons?

Coming in late - been on the Detroit Free-Press. I'm beginning to believe the Pistons where the refs are concerned. I really want Detroit to knock off Miami, so nobobdy will have anything to gripe about when we win the whole damn thing!

Here come the Pistons. Go! Spurs! Go!
Can't say I'm sad that Miami couldn't get it done.
But think of this, if Miami had been able to pull it out and then the Spurs beat the crap out of them, we'd hear nothing but whining and complaining about Shaq's deep thigh injury and Dwayne's rib injury.
This way, Miami can complain that Detroit beat them for the above reasons, but they'll be fishing when the Spurs beat the Pistons for the title.
Just what I wanted!!!!!

"Shaq and Wade weren't at 100%."

That's not totally false, but Pistons had the poise, made the shots and FTs in crunch time, while the Heat blew their crunch time with TO, bad shots, missed FTs.

These Heat played just like it was the their first ever Game7 for EC championship. They're just paying their dues.
