I LOVE everything about this card. I might actually pony up the dough to watch this on my TV instead of a shitty stream.
Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St-Pierre (c) vs. Jake Shields -- LOL @ Jake Shields. You're a D-League all star. You're a AAA all star. You're an IHL all star. You WERE a D-League MMA all star. Prepare to feel the wrath of a real champion. Fuck you Shields.
Featherweight Championship bout: José Aldo (c) vs. Mark Hominick -- I like Hominick, and I HATE Aldo's camp, but Aldo is the Anderson Silva of the weight class. Nobody is going to beat this guy. Ever.
Light Heavyweight bout: Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Jason Brilz -- I love Vladdy, but it's time to hang 'em up. After this ass kicking, he'll be done.
Light Heavyweight bout: Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida -- I love me some Dragon, and Hate me some Randy Couture. I am going to enjoy watching Lyoto beat the shit out of Father Time in the clinch.
Lightweight bout: Mark Bocek vs. Ben Henderson -- After that embarassing loss to Pettit, Benson is going to come out guns blazing. I'm calling 1st round sub, guillitine. It will probably be over in 30 seconds.
Other fights:
Welterweight bout: Nate Diaz vs. Rory MacDonald -- WAR DIAZ!
Bantamweight bout: Ivan Menjivar vs. Charlie Valencia -- I love me some Charlie.

Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St-Pierre (c) vs. Jake Shields
- GSP will pull away in the Championship rounds, but don't discount the possibility of Shields taking an early round.
Featherweight Championship bout: José Aldo (c) vs. Mark Hominick
- Hominick has the hometown crowd and is a tough kid, but Aldo is an animal. Could be epic, will definately be fast paced cuz both dude's bang.
Light Heavyweight bout: Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Jason Brilz
- Interesting match-up, at least I think so. I expect a back and forth, but can't pick a winner.
Light Heavyweight bout: Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida
- It's a must-win for Lyoto, but Randy's wanted this fight and after watching the Brock fight I feel like any size difference will be mute. Will be a technical battle, but a unanimous decision for Lyoto.
Lightweight bout: Mark Bocek vs. Ben Henderson
- Expect a fast paced ground fight, both dude's have great ground games but Bocek has no other weapons for Benson. Ben wins by 2nd round sub.
PRELIM Welterweight bout: Nate Diaz vs. Rory MacDonald
- Nate will beat Rory down in the 2nd via TKO.
Great card, I will probably buy this and 130.

Main Card
Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St-Pierre (c) vs. Jake Shields
I see this fight like the Koscheck fight. GSP will use his amazing TDD to keep it up and light shields up on the feet. Shields has only one chance to win, by submission on the ground. GSP is all about % and strategy. He has trained his boxing and kickboxing like an animal for this one for sure. I'll say UD because he has not been finishing lately but either way i see him dominating..
Featherweight Championship bout: José Aldo (c) vs. Mark Hominick
Like Trout said, this guy is the Silva of his division. He is destined to take his place as yet another near unbeatable champion..
Light Heavyweight bout: Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Jason Brilz
Tough fight to pick. Both guys older and past their best but Brilz i think has a little more left and more to prove after the controversial Nog fight..
Light Heavyweight bout: Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida
Not always does a fight come along where you are supremely confident of the result but this is one of them. Machida's whole career is riding on this fight. This is a must win for him and then some. 3 or 4 years ago i would pick Randy to win this fight. Back then Randy was a touch sharper, a touch faster and could better take advanatage of openings but today he is slow by a step in all those areas. He is not the dominant force in the clinch he used to be.. Machida picks him apart with movement and counter striking en route to a UD win and likely retirement by Randy..
Lightweight bout: Mark Bocek vs. Ben Henderson
Bocek is scrappy. This could go either way..

I was at UFC 111 in Jersey for GSP/Hardy and i was in the 300 section and basically could not see shit. So 80% of that crowd at Rogers will be looking at the big screen.. You gotta have amazing seats at an MMA fight or it sucks..

this is why i hate mma in a cage. from a fighting standpoint its way better because there are no re sets, but in a ring, you can see everything from any seat in the house, way better for camera angles and photos too.
I went to UFC 64, UFC 103 and PRIDE 34 so i got a little taste of both worlds. Still the only major mma events ive been too, but the PRIDE show was a way better experience imo..

wow Ben Henderson misses weight even with the towel (which he started off with by the way: 156.5, and also the weight guy said that the loud music was moving the scale, lol, but even when they turned down the music, he was still 156.5
oh and Steven Seagal walked out with Machida
man and more weight issues, Hominic weighed in at 145.25 and as Aldo was about to step up, officials were discussing scale and now Hominick official weight is 145?
Come on UFC use electric scales already
Georges St-Pierre (169.5) vs. Jake Shields (169) at #ufc 129 weigh-ins
Shields looks in much better shape compared to when he fought Kampmann

electric scales are more inaccurate imo
you can weight 145.26 and the scale will tell 145.5
depends on scale though
you can weight 145.24 and it's 145
All in all

Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St-Pierre (c) vs. Jake Shields
Wow. This fight might be awesome just for the reason GSP will go for it and wants to finish fight. So it might be a battle esp. when Shields always come up with a fight.
I think GSP want to stay up, but would not mind to shoot on Jake just to prevent being taken down. Shields outgrappeled Dan Henderson for sake! in the middleweight division. Real deal.
Featherweight Championship bout: José Aldo (c) vs. Mark Hominick
Aldo will be too much with his legs for mr Hominick
Light Heavyweight bout: Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Jason Brilz
Too big too strong Vlad gets cut by UFC
Light Heavyweight bout: Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida
Unfortunately Lyoto will be too fast for Randy. Couture will not be able to cut the cage in this fight. Probably 2nd R TKO.
Lightweight bout: Mark Bocek vs. Ben Henderson

Rory MacDonald is the future of the division. Then again, we said that about John Hathaway and Evan Dunham were the next big thing. But something about Rory's composure and technique convinces me he's actually headed for contention sooner than later. I want him vs Kampmann after he gets done with Howard.

I hope GSP's eye is alright. Judges love Jake Shields, hard to believe he won more than one round. Team Gracie doesn't look so tough all the sudden. Lil brawler got tossed around like a rag doll. Grapplefucker got jabbed to death.
Props to Aldo for showing some class and not busting Hominick's bump open. The fight should've been stopped, Aldo showed mercy and got GnP'd as a result. K-flo is prolly the last true test at FW, but LW is so crowded I don't know what will happen if he moves up.
Henderson deserved a better opponent for being a former champion, but I'm glad people see he's not a bitch.
I like Lyoto still, would like to see him get Jones after another win. Randy did him a favor by taking the fight, thanks Capt. America.

Decent event overall the Aldo fight was very good..
Main event sucked. GSP looked terrible from the 3rd RD on. I thought he dominated 1 and 2 with his boxing and then after his eye got messed up in the 3rd he looked slow and lost out there. 2 times he told Jackson his eye was fucked up it clearly was in his head. Worst fight GSP has had since probably the first BJ fight. I thought he won 4-1 but some close rounds. He was telegraphing the shit out of his right hand over and over again. Just a bad fight...

When Shields tried the "trash talking pumping up the crowd" type thing or whatever you wanna call it, I couldn't help but facepalm. I wanted to scream at my computer "YOU'RE NOT A DICKHEAD ASSHOLE LIKE YOUR TEAMMATE! STOP TRYING TO BE!"

Jose Aldo dominated the first round of his UFC 129 bout against Mark Hominick. Shortly after the second round started though, the champion seemed visibly tired. Commentator Joe Rogan speculated that it could be a result of a bad weight cut, bringing up that Aldo was light headed and had to excuse himself during the Q&A portion that featured the 7 UFC champs. It seems that wasn't the case though.
BE Reader fafefifofo, brought up that right before Rogan interviewed Aldo, he complained to his corner that he should have taken antibiotics. Bloody Elbow's Tom Mendes of Brazil was able to confirm this. Here's a translation of the cornerman's reply to Jose Aldo:
"Antibiotics would not have helped at all, you’re the champion kid, fuck antibiotics, everything is okay. You fought well, smooth and composed. "
Aldo made no mention of this on the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. This of course could be because he didn't take anything away from the very game Mark Hominick who took the fight to him, and showed a tremendous amount of heart and determination.

It only makes him that much more pathetic when you realize he was fighting a blind guy from the 3rd round on and still got headkicked really good.
Like I said before, I'm an Aldo fan now and hope he moves up to LW to shut Grey Maynard/Jim Miller up. Yea, I said Jim Miller cuz he supposedly talked shit about WEC fighters not being able to swim in the UFC. :ihit

Aldo is the man. Nobody is going to beat him. Ever.
Shields is exactly what I knew he was, a one trick pony who dominates lesser competition, but fucking sucks dick when thrown in with a lion.
GSP has to move up. Enough is enough, time to put Silva in his place.
Diaz looked like shit, what an ass hole. I hate their whole camp. They are the "little butt fuck Mexican" version of AKA. What a travesty.
Vladdy -- BOOM! (still time to retire, dude)
Machida, thank you SO much for putting that old fuck on his back with a sissy little kick. I never have to watch another Randy Couture fight. There IS a God.

GSP was not blind. And my goodness GSP really can fold when he is being worried about stuff like that during fights. It affects him.
All in all. I don't know if it will be a good idea to make a fight between him and Nck Diaz. Diaz has nobody to fight in Strikeforce so it might happen.
But yup I would rather see GSP at MW. he would probably be the smallest MW in the UFC and challenging Silva going up? Damn Silva fighting at LHW was not having top notch competition. I wonder why?
And they want to throw GSP not used to the higher weight to Anderson?
Sonnen is a big MW and it helped him gaining advantage in the takedown.
Anyway I would like to see this matchup and it seems to be the perfect timing.
The problem is - Okami can win the fight and IMO Shields would have also big chance of upseting Danas p4p fighter.
Good card :tu
ben henderson escaped Bocek and now it would be great to see him against Jim Miller. 155 is stacked as wow. Having Aldo there could cause a big loss to the 145 division. We need to wait for more fighters wanting to cut 10 pounds more going down from LW.
Anyway Henderson and Miller are contenders. Guida and Pettis are also contenders. Denis Siver is one win away IMO as Guillard. You've got Edgar and maynard and might even consider Melendez fighting for UFC
YOu can be pissed off about those Silva and Machida kicks being taught by Segal
oka for now

^you drunk?
GSP is simply not used getting wounded and bloodied that's the reason why anyone who wants to fight this guy should rough him up really bad.
GSP has always relied on his athleticism and superior skills, but I've never seen him in deep water before. If Shields had some success with his takedown and hurt him just a little bit, GSP might have lost.
The guy simply loses heart when he's not dominant.

GSP was in deep water against Penn the first fight, he had a bad first round and came back hard the next 2. He tore a muscle against Alves and still dominated the 5th round. The eye was in his head and he didn't fight well but i don't think he lacks heart..

But he worries too much during the fight.
It could get into his head
I can talk later because I've got an opinion
I'm not drunk - I was writing in shortcuts.
All in all I know ppl here do not take me seriously because of that.
I can post huge posts but why should I?

I've seen the fight twice and i had him winning rds 1-4 and losing the 5th close..
Don't know how 2 judges gave round 4 to Shields when he was taken down and dropped with a head kick in the round.. But GSP had a bad night.. Probably his worst title defense since reclaiming the belt..
