View Full Version : I guarantee Splitter will get significant playing time in game 2

Pop's a smart coach. He always makes adjustments. I'm pretty sure he'll figure out that Memphis' two bigs going for 20+ points is no coincidence.

Let's go, Pop.

Plus, he'll let Ginobili play. C'MON, MAN.

Yeah, that DNP-CD really gives me confidence he'll play significant minutes. And the fact that even Green saw minutes today over Splitter gives me confidence too.

So basically you can't guarantee anything, you're just hoping he plays Splitter.

Thanks for letting us know you hope Splitter gets some playing time.

Is this a joke? Pop has seen front courts kill this team all year and only plays Splitter significant minutes when Duncan is hurt...If Duncan is going to average 35 minutes a game, Splitter is going to get some nice front court seats this series until Memphis goes on to the next round.

Dude, to be honest, I don't even know if I was joking. I was serious at first, and then, as I was typing, I was like, "what am I writing?"

Still, I guess I'll go on a limb like Chuck and say Tiago will play significant minutes next game.

Tim played really well today, but even he, in his declining state, has difficulty not only keeped the Memphis beasts off the glass, but he also finds himself physically pushed out of position proximity for offensive rebounds. At this point in his career, he seemingly gets more rebounds because of his length.

My point to all this is, he needs more help. Tiago can play against Gasol He's got just enough junk in his game to combat him on one end, and get offense against him on the other.

I'm thoroughly convinced that unless Pop give Tiago some significant time, the Spurs will lose this series.

If Pop was truly smart, he would have put Splitter in there in game 1.

I don't see where the quality of play on defense would have suffered with Splitter. I saw tons of mistakes with the vets.

BTW lots of momentum killing whistles on Duncan when SA could have built a cushion.

There is a reason why memphis tanked to play the Spurs.

Huh? We outrebounded them 40-38. Duncan had 5 offensive boards by himself, as many as their entire team.

This game was lost because the Grizz got a bunch of crazy rolls and fluke shots to drop (55% shooting) while our rolls didn't go down. How many times did TP miss the bucket when he drove? Usually half of those go down, he was just off today.

RJ showing how big a vag he has on that last WIDE OPEN shot didn't help either.

Splitter must feel like a fool for coming to SA,
being punished for what,
being taught a lesson for what, what lesson?
wasting a year for what?

He simply can't be worse than Blair or Dice.

Gasol + Randolph: 19/25 FG, 23 RBs, 49 PT, while Splitter sits.

Whatever.

The Grizzlies are simply are more physical team than the Spurs. We all knew this coming into the series. All of which doesn't bode well for the Spurs. To help combat the physical style of Gasol and Randolph, the Spurs could benefit from Tiago's contributions. This is painfully aware to everyone except Pop.

Other teams keep shooting 50% or more against us and some still keep saying other teams hit fluke shots. Teams don't make fluke shots against the Bulls or the old Spurs teams

Keep dreaming son, we'll see more of the Turd Towers, unfortunatelly. Those were nice three's by bonner, but spurs had 6 point lead at end of third, when blair/bonner came in and pissed it away in record time. His poor defence/boxouts don't actually make up for a couple fluke shots he ocassionally makes in the playoffs.

How do you see Bonner not the problem? Would he get any mins on any other NBA playoff team? Bonner would need to average 20 and 10 just to make up for his piss poor D.

Everyone scores on him, and most the time he fouls them in the process. The guy had as many rebounds as fouls today--3!

idiocy of the highest degree - higher PER by far than any other fwd on the Spurs except Blair - and have been more effective than Blair on defense.

same effect as Bonner's $3 million - Bonner scores some points and then gives up points; Splitter does neither on the bench and the effect on the score is the same if not better than Bonner's.

$6 mil for 2 players that don't improve the Spurs margin of winning.
