Rose isn't a PG. He's a SG.

Rose lifted his team in the fourth.

Paul has been a liability all year. Remember how you complained about him constantly all season br?

Yes. He also killed the hornets chemistry all season long.

He was pacing himself all season while resting his knee and getting everyone else involved in the offense :toast

Seriously, Paul has placed himself the best pure PG right now. Rose is a SG in my opinion. Doesn't create as well for his teammates as Paul can, but is definitely a more explosive scorer especially in the 4th. Really, Rose needs to be a SG for his team to win. They don't have reliable scorers. Hornets need that from Paul, but he hasn't regained his explosion to shoot over defenders or effectively finish in the lane.

Paul knows the real season just started.

Lakers have know answer for him. They can't pack the paint like with Tony because of his ability to shoot the ball. Fisher,Kobe,Artest are merely a orange cone when the ball is in Paul's hands. Now that he knows that he is unstoppable I expect Paul to score even more in the games to come.

That's not really true. Hornets aren't a great team. They have a bunch of role players. He has alot of new teammates, a brand new coaching staff who are trying to run more set plays instead of the pick-n-roll. Also, Paul isn't surrounded by perimeter shooters so its harder for him to drive to the basket. The biggest reason why Paul had a big game today was the Hornets exclusively ran the PnR instead of their usual motion offense sets.

Agreed. I don't see the point in comparing them

Why do you care about Paul so much when he's just going to leave your city the first chance he gets?

Paul half ass put forth effort during the season. that is a fact. however he is clearly giving 100% in the playoffs and it shows. Derrick Rose is only in his 3rd season with a huge market team. give him another season or two and he will start half assing as well once he gets a big contract. plus by the way he plays he will be another Gilbert Arenas soon.

I think d rose is way to modest fir that kind of behavior, I don't wanna sound like I'm on his nuts, but that kid is different. I don't think this shit is going to go to his head, he's just a natural competitor. I'd fucking kill to build a team round him. MVP after three years? That's how good he his, and he's only going to get better. I think the only thing that might cause problems is if they move Noah. He's young, and he might bitch out if they move his best friend the way rondo did with perk.

Edit. Fuck typing on an ipad

son this kid has Allen Iverson Syndrome written all over him. he is still young and only in his 3rd season, but give it time and his "me first" attitude will eventually be his collapse.

I still think Paul was better in his 3rd year and arguably should have won a MVP that season. Paul was even getting better until he hurt his knee. I think Rose has a chance to be great, but he will do it differently. He's not a natural PG like Paul, but he doesn't have to be. However, I don't think his offensive game is quite good enough to lead his team to a title this season similar to Paul in his 3rd year when the Hornets lost to the Spurs. The Paul of last season would have easily won that Game 7 since he had so much more confident in his outside jumper. The 2007-2008 Paul just wasn't ready to win that game. I feel Rose is at the same point right now.

When healthy CP3 is the best pg! Rose is not better than paul at any category!! Rose gets more ppg because of the amount of shots he takes, the only thing he has on Chris is hops and can make more spectacular drives and dunks. Chris is More on a Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas level while Rose is more like iverson in his prime.

paul's 2008 season > d-rose's 2011 season.

Yet they still gave the MVP to Kobe that season as a lifetime achievement award.

Pelicans78
04-17-2011, 11:27 PM
Honestly, you could make a case for the NBA having it backwards that season. Phil probably should have been coach of the year over Byron Scott and you could make a case for Paul being more valuable than Kobe even though Kobe did a great job leading that team before Bynum's injury. Both teams weren't expected to be top seeds and Phil and Kobe did a great job leading that team. Scott basically piggy-backed Paul to win the COY award.
