mavs = aggressors, thus resulting in more trips to the line. Dirk just kept driving and driving. He was eventually going to start getting calls. Terry even seemed focused on driving, getting to the line several times.

And the Mavs had 29 fts to the Blazers 13 or whatever it was. I doubt they got 29 fts by getting fouled on jumpshots. The vast majority of those came from driving aggressively to the basket.

Its really amazing to see how stupid the people on the Blazers boards are. i mean really blind and stupid.
The Blazers "outscored" the Mavs because the Mavs let them score and didnt foul. The Blazers didnt let the Mavs score inside and fouled all the time instead of allowing the points. Blazers got points in the paint, Mavs got FT for doing the same thing, they were almost the same aggressive than the Blazers.
And still they all cry (even the coach) "but we were the aggressive team, look at all the points in the paint!!! But they got all the FTA! Mimimimi"
Blazers 9-13 from the line, Dallas 25-29. There's the rest. In a sense this explains the wide points in paint disparity though. It's not like the Mavs never went inside. The Blazers just fouled them every time they did and Dallas scored from the line instead of in the paint.

No big deal. Some bad calls but they'll get a bunch of calls in Portland. The Blazers look like the better team though. Kidd went ape shit & they barely got a W. The Blazers probably win that if Brandon Roy wasnt in during crunch time. He's a non factor, its pretty sad to watch actually.

Dirk had a poor game overall up until 6 minutes left in the 4th, along with the Blazers getting 7 alley-oops (basically 14 free points), and the Mavs won.
Goes both ways.

I don't know why you're surprised at the officiating, it's always been like that when teams play Dallas. Dirk is the most protected player in the NBA, any time the refs allow someone to play physical against him he gets shut down. I can't think of a single time when the Mavs came back from a deficit and it wasn't due to FT's. The same thing happened to the Spurs in game 1 last year but of course the Spurs came back and beat them down like the bitches they are.

I watched the tlong video, and it wasn't until the Wallace block on Marion, one minute and several episodes into it, that I felt there was a call that they had legitimate beef with. all the other calls/non-calls were completely normal, I don't know what they are complaining about.
edit: actually no, Wallace completely hacks Marion in the arm now that I saw the slowmotion version of it. They call against Roy in the episode after that is a bad one. That's 1:30 into the video.

I think it was bad officiating to both sides, but I specially blame the refs for not calling it equally throughout the game.
You could easily make a video with a lot of non calls on Dirk, but they started officiating totally different in the 4th. You know players will adapt to the way the games are being called from the start, if they allow some things for most of the game and then start calling it at some point that's bad officiating.
Still bad calls both ways. Though that last foul called on G Wallace on the video was pretty bad, and it put the Blazzers on the penalty if I'm not mistaken.

I agree. Call it fair and square from the beginning to the end without any changes and the players will adjust.

Not really, it's pretty much a pattern that's been going on the past 10 years. Dallas fans can't name a single game in which their team came back to win without the help of FT's.
I doubt Dirk was getting hacked anyways, pretty hard to believe, any contact made with him is an automatic foul. He was probably flopping as usual, that step back jump shot he does when he kicks out his leg usually draws a foul no matter how little contact was made.
Someone show me a video of Dirk getting hacked plz.

coming from the fan of a guy who made a career out of doing a retarded backdown, and then a turnaround hook shot that missed followed by a whistle. he then goes to the ft line, stares at the rim like a fucktard for 10 minutes, and proceeds to shoot the flattest line drive ft you've ever seen. yeah that crybaby "big shitty" fucking sucks

Getting away with fouling in the first half doesn't mean you're entitled to keep doing it and then get upset when it's called properly.

Yes, but he completely overreacted when talking about the fans and then Terry goes on to give Parker a harmless foul when he says "Dallas is just sitting back and taking cheap shots!"

Playoff experience > Free throw attempts
Saturday night, Mavs had both of those in their favor.
Lakers-OKC last year, the Thunder shot more than twice the number of FTs than the Lakers. In the end, experience and veteran leadership win out.

Brandon Roy has to take a page from the book of Chris Paul: When the Mavs switch off of screens and he has Chandler on an island with the game in balance he's got to make the Mavs pay like Paul did with Gasol. Portland needs him to be their closer again rather than kicking the ball out to Batum for contested 3's.

Blazers did get hosed, in the 4th. But Blazers left kidd open (rightly so) and he made them pay. IF Kidd is making 5 3's in a game they are hard to beat they beat us in Dallas the same way. I would not stop doubling off of Kidd if need be, but you cant just leave him wide open at least a late contest has to be made.
Kidd was the bigger factor than the refs TBH, but they did the Blazers no favors.

Personally I dont see why Mavs fans care, let the Blazers or NBa fans bitch. The only team that has gotten hosed worse than the Mavs in the Finals was the stern Decision that screwed the Suns with those suspensions. Again shit evens out.
If Mavs fans care remember how you felt when Heat got those calls in the Finals? That is how Blazers fans feel so you should have empathy, if you want. Or you could say shit, it's about time I was waiting for shit to even out after my team got hosed in the NBA finals ...

And then there's the officiating. McMillan was fined $35,000 by the NBA on Monday for his comments after Game 1, when he cried foul over the discrepancy in free throw attempts between the teams -- particularly in the fourth quarter, when the Mavericks held a lopsided 19-2 edge. Dallas held a 29-13 advantage in the game.
The Blazers on Monday were preparing a handful of video clips to send to the NBA for review and although no one in the organization would offer specifics publicly, the consensus within is that LaMarcus Aldridge and Wallace endured more than their fair share of rugged fouls that went overlooked. The Blazers wondered how Aldridge, who worked most often inside the key, could only draw four free throw attempts, while Nowitzki, who did most of his damage from the perimeter, could draw 13 -- all in the fourth quarter.

He repeatedly had a step on Chandler in the 4th on those switches, but instead of forcing the issue he kept kicking it out to Batum for long range jumpers. He's still got it, but the confidence is lacking.

The gap in playoff experience in this series is glaring. I think it's been a pretty fair series but the Blazers just try and whine after every call while the Mavs are loaded with veterans who just play on. Not a good sign for Portland imho. No way this series goes past 5
