Clock was running down and everyone else was on the other side of the floor, had to put up the off-balance shot.
There was still 5 on the clock and he had already held the ball for about 5 seconds. Mason fucked himself there.

Finally, somebody cuts to the basket..
They're sending one of the hardest double teams you'll see against a player, and they're doing it at the 3-point line, not even waiting for him to make a move, not even waiting to trap him..
If a team is playing a guy like that, every other player on the team should have plenty of opportunity to get open by slashing to the basket..

Not yet. They were pathetic on the offensive glass this game; I expect them to do worse than the Knicks, but THIS bad is an aberration, I think.
Plus, Melo was on fire. No, forget that, "on fire" isn't a good enough term to describe it. He was everywhere.

Except that they don't win titles unless you give them a stacked team with elite big men.
Pau looked really elite the other night. A great case for your argument. Look Pau is highly skilled but in the 80's early 90's he would be a skilled big man and even today he is very good and an all-star. But let's not confuse him with prime Shaq or duncan ....
heck Shaq wasnt TRULY elite when Wade won. Those days are over ...if you Kobe, Wade, MJ Isiah Magic you dont need a sure-fire HOF big man to win.
Sure, it is easier to have a prime Shaq or Duncan but the last title team led by an elite big man was probably Shaq in 2002 and Duncan 2007 and they got elite performances by Kobe Manu and Parrker to help them win. Mj's big men were not elite and neither was Isiah and Magic won with an old Kareem in 1988 ...
Props to Lngrr ...

They're not a good team. They're a good story. They are extremely young, talented, and stupid. The whole team outside of Brand and Iggy is just raw as hell. They would get massacred in the West, tbh.
Collins has done wonders with them but they are too unpolished to even come close to competingat a playoff level. The Bucks would've given the Heat a tougher series, imho. By tougher I mean possibly win one game...
