FAA Short on Cash, Skimping on Training and Long Aware of Sleeping Workers
Mary Schiavo, former Inspector General of the Department of Transportation, says it's been happening for a long time. Schiavo spoke with NewsFeed about how secrecy within the Federal Aviation Administration has perpetuated a culture where controllers are not held accountable and where budget constraints have hampered the training and selection process within air traffic control.
GOP to use sleeping air controllers to push for privatization
Republicans see the furor as a way to force certain proposals into a final version of a $59 billion aviation bill that lawmakers will thrash out when Congress returns in May.
These include proposals to privatize more airport towers, consolidate facilities and give FAA management more flexibility in running the sprawling air traffic system. All are part of a larger Republican effort to cut FAA spending by $4 billion.

Like dubya's war mercenaries, and other obscenely expensive outsourcing, privatized air controllers will obviously be so much cheaper, sufficiently staffed, with plenty of time off for rest.
Expect any privatization to go to the highest Repug campaign contributors, and/or Repug family members and friends.

Be surprised: the President is never in charge. All he can do is veto, along with the Dems in the Senate. He can't do shit without enough votes in Congress, and Barry has never had them.

"pass the Affordable Care Act"
By the time he bought off BigPharma, bought off the insurance companies, abandoned a public option, compromised with the Repugs (and got nothing in return), ACA enriches Corporate-Americans much more than it helps Human-Americans. And ACA is being gutted at the rule-making stage, with the Repugs in control of the House.

Yes, well it passed with Dems in charge. So go away with your nonsense about Barry never having had the votes to change anything.

Gutting a bad bill that mainly enriches Big Pharma and insurance companies? Why aren't you cheering?

It's a step in the right direction, and it's better than doing nothing.
Salaried govt doctors (like the VA) to stop fee-for-service extortion and salary-padding, and a hard-core public option to gut the private insurance comapnies and make health care affordable.

They are lazy. Someone who gets paid bank, has no degree, is responsible for lives of people, has a three day weekend, and can't take advantage of the 8 hour window between the 2nd and 3rd shit is a lazy fuk unappreciative of their job.
