So far (and I don't want to jinx it), he's doing the same thing Sheed did last year. (Though O'Neal has an excuse being injured.) He looked really slow during the regular season, but his defense has been pretty decent so far.

Now, if we meet you guys again in the Finals, I don't know if O'Neal will be able to consistently body up your bigs. That's why I'd like to have Shaq out there, because as slow as he is, he's huge, and you can't teach huge.

:lol Gundy? asking if Varitek was the best Red Sox catcher, and the others like, "Uhmm Carlton Fisk?"

New York looks like the little brother that always gets beat on the playground. This team just doesn't play any defense and Amar'e has been pedestrian in this game so far. I really had high hopes for this series. I was sadly mistaken.

This game is kinda boring.

On a side note, I kinda like what Turiaf has been doing this series. He's been a serviceable C for the Knicks. He doesn't bring much, but he hasn't taken a lot off the table either.

From the little I've seen, crappy shot selection and dumb jumpers for the most part. He's had some decent possessions this game by actually playing in the post; hope he sticks to that.

Don't get your hopes up. A team that actually plays defense will at least try to run him off the line. Every one of his attempts has been wide open.

I know, but as long as he doesn't go, say 0-12, I'll be happy.

And that's the best coaching that D'Antoni can give? "Take the shot if you're open"? It's not taking shots that's been the problem Mike.

Amare in the playoffs: Team 0-3 / 13 PPG / 6.3 REB / 1.3 AST / 46% FG / 58% FT / EFF: +11.33

Bosh in the playoffs: Team 3-1 / 19 PPG / 8.5 REB / 1 AST / 49% FG / 77% FT: / EFF: +20.5

One has free reign to chuck away and doesn't have to defend and the other plays at a slower pace with two other superstars dictating how many shots he gets.

Interesting development since the beginning of the season.

When Amare is playing like Amare should aka in game 1 where he was hot and they weren't going to him down the stretch, he is so much better than Bosh. Using 4 games to decide who is better, especially when one isn't 100%, is wrong.

Wait, wait, wait. Everyone used the beginning of the season to say Amare>Bosh, because things were going so well. As the season went on and Bosh adjusted, it started evening out.

Playoffs clearly get weighted more heavily because that is all anyone cares about.

Game 1 looks like an aberration, not the norm for Amare.

Well, I've always been in the camp that Amare is a straight up beast and a freak of nature, and thought it a bit insulting that people would compare him to Bosh. Not to take away from Bosh, he's really good, but Amare is a fucking huge, powerful, bully his way to the rim type of player that can shoot with touch. Really hard to find someone with that skillset.
