Charles Barkley to Tony Allen of the Memphis Grizzlies: "You're gonna get bit!"
About time Barkley says something which isn't completely against the Spurs. Something tells me Spurs will have a huge Game 4.

You're talking about the same Spurs who are playing a team that blatantly tanked to match up with them, right? They sure came out with some fire in the first 3 games.
Expect another nailbiter tomorrow...

I think the spurs are capable of winning by 10+ IN memphis, IF they play spurs basketball...

Spurs Basketball used to be Smart execution down the stretch, and crushing defence, but I'm not sure what is Spurs basketball anymore. :(

The Spurs haven't acted like a game meant anything to them since 2005. If they play angry in game 4, it'll be the first time since then.

The Spurs indifference throughout this series has absolutely shocked me.
For a group that has one last chance at the brass ring -- however slight that chance might sometimes seem to be -- you'd think that they would come out breathing fire every night and play with the highest levels of intensity. Instead, they look at times like they've just been introduced to each other and don't seem particularly concerned when they make some pretty stupid mistakes.
Here's hoping the Grizzlies now have their full attention.

I'm half expecting for Pop to rest Duncan and Manu, like he usually does in important, challenging games. Much easier to walk away with people thinking you weren't trying to cover for your fear of getting humiliated.

Barkley is just basically saying that Manu usually goes nuts when stupid people either hit him or say something stupid about him.
His response to Allen's comments was "it doesn't matter"

Did you want him to start yelling into the microphones? Of course he's going to say it doesn't matter, doesn't mean he's not a little pissed by it.

Oh stfu already. I'm tired of people bashing Charles when from 2002-2007 he picked the Spurs to win at the beginning of almost every season. He and Skip Bayless were all over the Spurs nuts for those years, because they were obviously teams worthy of high expectations.
He can see this team doesn't have the size needed to compete for a title this year. To quote chuck "Defense is the ONLY consistent part of the game, shooting comes and goes." This team plays average D, and everyone on here knows it. Unless Neal, Bonner, RJ, Manu, and Hill start raining 3s and are shooting 40% in this playoff run, there won't be any championship. I pray they can pull it off, but contested 3s are a lot tougher than the wide open ones they were getting in the regular season

In a way, I'm surprised how much Pop has mellowed in that aspect too as years have gone by (and by stating this, I don't mean he bears all the responsibility for the player's attitude)... He was never shy of pulling a player out and ripping them a new one right on the spot... even during a playoff game...

Ask him to bring Tony. Be nice to have the Tony Parker from regular season rather than Conley's b***h.

Well put. Barkley abandoned the Spurs once it was clear Pop and the Spurs completely abandoned defense.
I suppose "dog" is a bit better than "cockroach" for the 4 time champions.

They were down 3-1 and roared back against Dallas, next year won a title. In 08 came bac from 0-2 to win in 7 AT NO, you went a little far there.

Tim Duncan had the flu for the first two games in 2008 against a team they would have swept. The Spurs had no centers in 2006 and just figured out how to play smallball. They seemed to be putting it out there for that series despite Pop's refusal to give them any support on the interior, though. So yeah, I'll amend and say the Spurs haven't played with any passion since 2006. Make you feel better?
2005 was the first year that Pop started holding out players for huge regular season matchups. That's probably why I mentioned it.
:lol they won a title in 2007 and didn't play with any passion since 2006?

It takes a shit load of passion to win a title, regardless of the competition. I suppose you've simply forgot about the Suns series?

We are talking about 2007. I mentioned 2007 in response to no passion since 2006. You even asked a question about 2007. Try to lose the whiny attitude about the Spurs for a second so you can focus.

Since the Spurs were at no point down to the Suns, the only thing challenged is you.
