If the only problem in this 3-1 hole that the Spurs are in is him playing Matt Bonner too much, then he probably would have figured it out already. The Lakers have been through a lot of series with the Spurs and I kind of have a gauge of what he is thinking. He's stubborn, senile to a stretch, but he's not dumb.
Is either that or he's gone off the reservation.
Take your pick.

He also fucked up by not playing Ginobili in game 1, when Manu was perfectly able to do so.
As for Splitter vis a vis Bonner, he should've seen the floor from game 1 on out, while Bonner rides pine or is played only in situations that warrant it.
Overall, still very disappointed in Pop's decision making in this series. But on the other hand, I give the Grizzlies all the credit in the world.

Pop is the reason you guys tanked for Duncan. You owe everything to him.
Splitter would not have changed a fucking thing. The Spurs just quit because they are of spineless stock.

Like the Chargers.
But at least the Spurs got 4 rings to show for it.
How about the Chargers?

And that doesn't happen without Pop ordering the tank.
Blaming this recent failure on Pop is just a cop-out when your precious core is the one that shit the bed and then quit.

Pop's a great coach and this series doesn't change that one iota.
I'll note that Splitter getting a lot of burn tonight just happens to be the game they got taken out behind the woodshed. Correlation doesn't equal causation, but anyone who thought the Spurs' problems boiled down to Splitter > Bonner just didn't get it.

lol Chargers.
The Spurs do not have the pieces to win. It's that simple. Even a chessmaster cannot beat a mid grade player if his material is severely lacking.
