- Celtics beat Lakers 3 years ago
- KG injured 2 years ago and 3 point chucking Magic made it instead. Remember Celtics were up 3-2 on Orlando without KG
- Celtics beat Lakers last year. We all saw the 20+ extra free throws in Game 7 and Kobe being benched in the 4th Quarter. Hey Lakers got the trophy (just like Bonds has the home run record) but as a Bulls fan it also made their front office satisfied going into this season.
If KG or Noah/Boozer go down with injuries then fine but chances are Bynum will first. Lakers will again be exposed and hopefully they don't get 20 extra free throws again
There is no way the Celtics or Bulls would allow Kobe to dunk twice on them like that. No way they would allow Gasol to hang out in the lane like that. Thunder with the Perkins deal are the same way now. It's a different team

Playing without Bynum is like the Celtics being without Davis. You can't compare a Hall of Famer like KG to Bynum
KG and co shut down the Lakers for 3 quarters until the refs started walking LA up and down the free throw line. Hey I watched the game with non Celtic/Laker fans and they were shocked at the bs they were witnessing. The refs were literally handing the Lakers the game and Boston didn't even have their starting Center.
Hey I'll give it up to the Lakers for having Game 7 at home with the superior regular season record but that 4th Quarter was as absurd as the 2002 Western Conference Game 6.

This game was so obviously fixed. Boston shot 6 free throws in the 4th quarter to LA's 21. That is one of the largest free throw discrepancies in the history of the nba playoffs and it came in a game that was decided by 4 points.
In case you didn't watch game 7, the players were killing each other for 3 quarters. Fouls were scarce. So what are the chances that all 3 refs suddenly begin calling the game tight in LA's favor in the 4th quarter of game 7? Are we to believe that that's just coincidence?

son I lost $500 on game 7 last season. The Celtics were clearly the far better team, but the NBA stepped in to make sure the Lakers won. it was obviously fixed. stupid of me to bet that kind of money on the NBA though ... never again.

They COMPLETELY changed the way they called the game for 3 quarters of the game? Seems a bit of an advantage to the team with a starting center out doesn't it?
It was a fraud but I don't care because if your lucky enough to make the Finals the Bulls will beat your ass in 6 games (if even that many).
If the refs hadn't bailed you out in the Finals, then you would have made the necessary changes to win this year.

Pacers would defeat the Hornets
Indiana has 2 things NO does not
- Post players
- Backbone. There were actual playoff fouls being committed
Pacers would slow down Paul better than LA has and their inside strength would beat NO

Merely speculation of Indiana beating N.O. The way Chris Paul is playing, there is no way Indiana would slow him down. Anyone with a suitable frontline would eat the Hornets alive. The Lakers have two immovable forces. The advantage of the frontcourt and the mercurial Kobe. When the Lakers go into the key and remain there, they are tough to beat. Talk when you beat the Heat/Celtics.

- Pacers managed to slow down the MVP of the league, they would do the same with Paul
- Kobe is being ALLOWED to parade around the court. A team with any backbone wouldn't allow that. Teams like the Celtics/Bulls will not
- You mean when Lakers continue to camp in the lane for over 3 seconds? I was posting on another site and they were going crazy at the camping Lakers were doing.
Overall the refs aren't to blame for this series. Hornets are just too soft and don't have the roster to defeat a title contender. Bulls/Celtics would have taken the out in 5 games though

Obviously using the word rigged and professional sports is a stretch but the whole Donahey situation has shown that there is a lot of shadiness occurring in the NBA. On top of that you look at the # of different franchises that have won titles since the mid 70's and something doesn't add up
At the least, I wouldn't be surprised if the refs were instructed to call the 4th Quarter a different way given the low scoring. But that change was a distinct advantage to the Lakers who were healthy.
I remember the game completely changing with the quick foul calls to begin the 4th Quarter. It depleted the Celtics defense and made them slack off since they were missing their center.
It's obvious the 4th Quarter was called different, but WHY? I understand a Half but why a quarter? There is no acceptable answer

I hope that the Bulls make it to the Finals. This will be 4 Finals in a row and your teams' first in 13 years. Experience prevails. Kobe matches MJ and we send the greatest coach in NBA history off on a good note against his old team. The only obvious advantage the Bulls would have on the Lakers is Rose. Every other matchup? You guys would get shitted on.
Bynum >> Noah
Gasol >> Boozer (Lamar Odom too - from Boozer's Jazz days)
Artest - Deng: wash. Deng is nice, but Artest would lock into his ass
Kobe - no comments
Rose - no comments
Key Bench Players
Barnes >> Korver - would punk his ass too
LO >> Gibson - 6th man of the year and fringe starter
SB - Brewer - wash but I'll take SB in this match up because I can
CJ Watson > Blake - but barely
:toast
Andrew Bynum

The Bulls could at least throw Deng and Bogans at Kobe but the Lakers are just completely fucked when it comes to guarding Rose. That would be a really interesting finals but honestly Rose would go for fifty a night.

LA can guard Rose better than can guard Paul because Rose doesn't have a mid-range game.
If he can finish those layups inside over Bynum and Pau then God bless him but I don't see it happening.
Flip side, Noah and Boozer don't have a prayer in keeping Bynum and Pau from getting great shots and controlling the glass.

Hornets have a pretty decent frontcourt. They've held their own for the most part. If that wasn't the case then this series would already be over. And this is with West out.

Not really. Gasol can't guard West. Never has, never will. Plus, West's mid-range jumper is more reliable than Landry and West is a much better rebounder than Landry. Landry's rebounding has been poor this series and all season. Also, having West starting would allow Landry to come off the bench to help the 2nd unit. West is frankly a better player than Landry.
But it would not be enough to win the series because the Hornets don't have reliable wing scorers.

West is bigger and stronger than Landry and just better overall. Odom gives him trouble, but West can score on Gasol. Plus, that would allow Landry to come off the bench whenever Odom comes in. Landry has been a liability when it comes to rebounding against Gasol. West isn't a great rebounder, but he's better than Landry because he's bigger mostly.
Anyway, the point is someone made a comment that the Hornets have a bad frontcourt and I was saying that isn't true. Hornets have a pretty solid frontcourt. Its their perimeter players that are lacking.

And more of a pussy. It isn't about beings bigger and no, West is not stronger than Landry IMO. Landry can get under Pau/Odom's base and fuck their games up. He can also go right around their defense or box out quite easily. Both have historically had trouble against him. Bynum too.

Hornets are paper soft. Kobe on one leg floated into the lane with absolutely no payback last night like it was a pre season game. Pacers hammered Rose for 5 games. I have yet to see any sign of backbone out of the Hornets

LOL, your team struggled against a 37-45 team in the East. Bulls got exposed for what they are. A man one team. Boozer sucks. He couldn't hack it in the West and couldn't do crap against Duncan or the Lakers. Noah's solid. Deng is overrated. You guys will get by Orlando/Atl, but reality will strike and you guys are going home after that.
Hornets pounded the Pacers right before the playoffs started and they would do so in a 7 game series. Pacers are a terrible team. They only looked good because the Bulls aren't that great. They're a 60 win fraud just like the Spurs were. Besides, Hornets aren't even a 3-point shooting team. You making that comment shows how stupid you are.

Landry was stronger, he wouldn't be a much worse rebounder. His rebounding has been terrible this series. Plus, he hasn't done much offensively. He's playing good man-to-man defense, but that's it. Hornets miss West's offense. He's a reliable scorer. Landry isn't as consistent. Plus, Landry would be able to come off the bench and get more PT against Odom. Besides, the Hornets won two games because of Paul mostly. Yeah he had some support, but not that much.

Landry's base is much stronger. Defensively, it is for sure.

Landry has been punking the shit out of Lamar all series. And he rotuinely goes right by Gasol for easy layups. The only time his offense struggles is when Bynum is forced to slide over and help, which opens up the paint.
Besides, the Hornets won two games because of Paul mostly. Yeah he had some support, but not that much.
Says the guy that was pimping out Gray. West would be getting 35+ minutes and that means even less PT for Gray, which would hurt their interior defense immensely. West is a huge vagina anyway and has never done anything of note in the postseason.
5 game series had that pussy played. Similar to how the Lakers are going to destroy the Mavericks next round.

Landry would be getting minutes against Odom if coming off the bench. He's doing an ok job against Gasol, but his lack of rebounding negates whatever defense he plays. West torches Gasol. Gasol is too slow to stay with him and CP3 would give West alot of open looks which he can make more consistently compared to Landry. Landry would help the 2nd unit alot more which got torched last night.
Gray has played well whenever he plays. He only got a ridiculous 12 minutes last night for whatever reason and got 6 boards which was more than Okafor or Landry who played 3 times as much minutes. Also, Bynum continues his dominance over Okafor. West would take playing time away from Landry, not Gray.
Anyway, we're just going back and forth on the same argument. I'm done arguing about it.
