Is next yrs's starting SF currently on the roster? sick and tired of seeing jefferson pretend he wants the ball and when he gets it he can't wait to pass it to someone. I don't know what it will take to light a fire under his lazy ass. he's just taking up space. i hope butler pans out.....go spurs

You know Pop isnt gonna let someone new come to this team and get significant playing time much less start.

I think we'll have to make a move to get another SF, and that's easier said than done.

Sadly he is not the only one that wants to pass the ball as soon as he gets it. Our supporting cast doesn't have guts and it kills me! Gone are the days of mario elie, robert horry, steve kerr, jerome kersey, malik rose, ect... our roll players are weak mentally.

Absolutely correct. As soon as TP/Hill passed RJ the ball, he passed it back like a hot potato, killing the play. Disgusting. Dump RJ at whatever cost.

Why not ? Finley, RJ etc... got significant time their first year.

It's just that someone of this caliber will not be acquired through the draft with our low pick.

With a trade, everything is possible.
Wish we got Gerald Wallace. Portalnd got him for few assets :depressed

I hope it's Chris Singleton, Tyler Honeycutt or even James Anderson. Anybody but RJ.

Does it really matter in a rebuilding season?

If there's a season and if R.J is traded, Shane Battier could be a very likely candidate.

Spurs FO loves him and he also has a lot of respect for the Spurs. Sign him in the off-season for 2.5-4 million per year and implement a heavy dosage of James Anderson as his back-up.

I would hope James Anderson would be able to take the job from him, but I wouldn't bet on a change in the starting lineup....

James Anderson for the win baby.

RJ will run around a few cones with Pop in the offseason, shoot 60%+ in October, cause the media to write endless articles about RJ's comeback and Pop's genius, then proceed to shrivel up when it matters again... All the while, James Anderson will be glued to the bench getting over himself because he missed the first week of training camp, and it wouldn't be fair to the team, until we're in another hole in the playoffs and he's rushed out there once Pop panics again...

rinse and repeat...

JA should be there, got decent minutes before the leg injury. Him knocking down 3's AND playing defense on a consistent basis should phase RJ out.....at least as a starter. Heck, even Blair was given a shot to start and as much as he does on the boards he worked that out with no real offensive game to date; still in the works rather.

Starting Job:
Either Thaddeus Young, Al Thornton, Wilson Chandler, Grant Hill or Tracy McGrady for the MLE.

Back-up:
Tyler Honeycutt or Chris Singleton for the 29th pick.

Jefferson + Blair will be traded for a big man.
