View Full Version : Spurs Needed Chandler

He would've been their missing piece. Duncan can't guard the rim by himself. He needs another 7 footer that can control the paint offensively and defensively. So size does matter in the playoffs when the game slows down. Spurs used to have the size. Now they don't.

If you want we can give you Matt Bonner for him. He's a good 3pt shooter man!!

Hell Shaq was available and may have stayed healthy here. Gasol surely wouldn't have bullied him around and Tim has done very well against Randolph.

Spurs need a young big body thats 260+ lbs to match up better with the giants of the league like the Gasols and Bynum. Chandler ain't that.

Plus the Spurs don't have the PG's to utilize his limited but effective offensive game (dunks). Also his injuries, price tag, etc.

Nope, good giants are pretty rare. Even stiffs like Haywood and Dampier will get huge paydays in this league. Marc Gasol is going to make some money after this playoffs run.

Yeah since getting 13 offensive rebounds would be useless for the Spurs. :rolleyes Mavs wouldn't be the same team without Chandler. That's a fact.

It doesn't take a genius to realize we needed more size. Another 7 footer with experience to compliment Duncan. This was a problem I saw going into the season but it was forgotten by many because of the Spurs great start and affective small ball play. Sadly I miss Mohammed and Nesterovic.

Wouldn't matter if Spurs had any of these bigs. I'm not sure Pop would play them becuase of their lack of ability at shooting the 3's.

Chandler would be an upgrade but the Spurs have outrebounded the Grizz. And Chandler still doesn't match up well with the 260+lbers of the league.

Chandler has had a good contract year but he's going to be expensive, has injury concerns, he's significantly smaller than the giants of the league, fouls like crazy, etc. Those 13 offensive boards are impressive but he's had some stinkers for boxscores as well.

Mavs wouldn't be the same team without Chandler. That's a fact.

Of course that's a fact. BTW no one is arguing against that.

That was the entire reason behind drafting Splitter. Look no further. He was supposed/is supposed to be Duncan's partner in the paint. He was also the reason why Scola was traded. Now you have him - use him.

I like Chandler, but hes not the answer to pair with TD. We need a big who can be a threat to score in the post, That Chandler is not.

Pops is gonna have to grow a pair and play younger guys, the owner needs to go out and spend. Give LA, Dall and Griz, Miami credit, they spend.

The grizz paided Gay, they paid Randolph- who could teach Blairs fat lazy ass a thing or two- they are gonna pay Gasol.

We pay the wrong people, instead of spending big money on one quality player we give money to 2 shit players like RJ and Bonner. We overpaid RJ, no one was after him outside of LA Clips and they only wanted to pay him 6 a year.

If we can package Dice contract with RJ and maybe Hill or Blair to grab a solid young role player we will still be able to compete next year.

Whoa, whoa there....

FIRST....

Pop needs to GTFO already....

new coach, new system,new blood...

THIS DID NOT WORK FOR FOUR YEARS IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chandler 20 rebounds... and on the Spurs, those same 20 boards would be extremely classy.... but in all seriousness I think Chandler would have given us some ummph

When your "bigs" alongside Duncan are Blair, Bonner, and Mcdyess, Tyson looks like a hall of famer.

Sure he could have helped but the Bobcats gave him up for Dampier's huge expiring contract. Unless Spurs were willing to let a rookie (who ended up getting hurt) start at shooting forward, there's no way the Spurs could have gotten him. Cuban probably is going to overpay him now. Chandler is good now but he's been hurt a lot in the past and didn't play that well on Bobcats. Presti may have been on to something when he tried to get the guy though.

What the Spurs need is a good young big.

But they are so hard to find -- usually any player that big, young, and skilled is so spoiled that he is uncoachable. Not to mention that a team like the Spurs (record too good to draft a such a big, too unattractive as a FA destination to lure one) can almost never get such a player.

But I'm sure if the Spurs could ever find such a player he would step right in to the rotation and add a whole new dimension to the team.

Chandler would easily be the best big next to Duncan, and would greatly improve spurs interior d. The fact that dallas is able match la's frontline is whats winning the series for them.
