Dallas will finally get over the hump of winning a road playoff game imo. Portland can only delay the inevitable for so long but the time has come where the mighty boys in blue will rise up!

tbh not a jinx

Oh yeah, :lol I wouldn't want to ruin your prom tbh. It's a big day.

I don't do ELE's, but I'm willing to do the never used, but often talked about: S.E.E: Spousal Extinction Event.

If the Blazers win, you dump your prom date and go solo. If the Mavs win, I break up with my girlfriend of 3 years whom I live with and my parents love.

Deal?

I wouldn't discount the leads the Mavs have been able to build in these last couple games. Getting up by more than 20, twice, shows that the Mavs are simply out-executing the Blazers on both ends of the court. They're wearing on Aldridge and Roy will continue to be a question mark. The crowd will keep them energized, but Dallas will take their best shot before pulling away and winning by 8-10.

Actually it's been 3 out of the last 4 games. Mavs pulled away in Game 2 as well. They have been the better team, quite clearly. They just have to confirm it. Wear out LA, who has been quite average after a scorching start, and ride the best player on the floor, Dirk!

Mavs have definitely proven they're the better team, but the series isn't over because of a 12-minute letdown. The Rose Garden is a tough place to win a game and the Blazers will not play with the same complacency they did for the first three quarters of Game 4. I think we're gonna get this series, Portland has not played well in Dallas, but I tend to see a repeat of Game 3 Thursday night: a close game that Portland takes in the end. Excluding a Ginobili-less Spurs team, we haven't won a road playoff game since Game 6 of the 2006 Conference Finals.

Mavs have outplayed the Blazers for probably 200+ of 240 minutes they have played. There is no doubt in my mind they win the series, probably Thursday night.

But the Mavs should get some credit to what they did to the Blazers in those first 3 quarters on Saturday. As they showed again for a 7:52 stretch last night, the Mavs upped the pressure and held the Blazers without a field goal. Remember, also, that the win on Saturday was on the angelic wings of a rare Brandon Roy miracle. How'd that work out for his encore performance? And even in that G3 loss, the Mavs kept it close despite a series-high number of turnovers (16) and 10 missed FTs. I'm echoing that I also think they're the better team in this series, but they were seconds away from holding that G4 win, despite the heroics.

+1

the Mavs were a miraculously unlikely performance away from being able to finish the series in 5, and game 3 was extremely winnable as well. Dallas has played much better in Portland than Portland has played in Dallas. Portland with the exception of game 1, has been pretty much dominated in Dallas.

people are putting wayyyyy too much stock into the idea that they have no chance in hell at winning in Portland, which is total horsecrap.

Only reason I want to bet is because I predicted the home team wins every game before the series started. I knew both teams were capable of winning on the road and there were some close ones back and forth (Mavs mostly playing from ahead), but it takes a lot to win on the road in an evenly matched series.

On the Mavs side, though, it's not great that they're like 2-18 in their last 20 road playoff games. Gotta get over that hump, boys.

shouldn't underestimate their potential of choking tbh. series will be tied after game 6 and the blazers will win it eventually.
