The fact that Splitter and Duncan have no chemistry together because they played barely any minutes on the floor together this year is entirely his fault.
I have to wonder when they do end up together for a little bit. Splitter gets hidden on the side of the basket and Duncan does all the pick and rolls...WTF
I'm sorry but Splitter has one offensive threat and that's PICK AND ROLLS and he is great at it. He forces the big to make a choice to stay with him or help on the small which leads to a layup, open 3, or mismatch at the hoop with Splitter trying to be gaurded by a much smaller guy. WHY is Duncan doing the pick and rolls when he only cuts maybe a quarter of the time anymore. Duncan would be much more dangerous with an open 10-12 footer as well or it may open up a empty lane for him to the basket. What am I missing here am I wrong? Pop is not the only coach on the bench hasn't somebody suggested this to him?
Am I the only person that sees this?

I noticed this as well - Splitter clearly needs to be pick and roll guy if the two are playing together otherwise Tiago hanging around the basket/paint just clogs up the lane - moving forward I don't expect to see them on the floor together much

How in the world any Spurs fan could h@te Pop is just beyond belief.
I don't know of another coach in the league except maybe Phil that could have coached the Spurs to a win last night. That last minute alone showed how great Pop is. He remains calm. He keeps his players focused, he draws up the correct plays, he has the right players doing the right things at the right time.
Spus win over 60 games this season with this team....Great Coaching
Spurs win 4 titles in last 10 years.....Great Coaching.
The 3 Greatest coaches in the NBA last 40 years in no particular order: Pop, Phil, Riley.

agreed...my specific "hate" on pop is how he has underutilized an athletic big man when all season one could easily see how our defense was suffering with only duncan in the middle.

Basically this. His strange love of Bonner/Blair lineups throughout the season has come down to this. When we need 2 7-footers on the floor, they do not know how to play with each other.
We also don't have our PGs prepared for Splitters cuts to the basket off the PnR because they were never told to look for him, so they never see him.

Really, you mean an NBA point guard has to be told to look for the roll man off the pick and roll ? How do you know what they have been tyold ? Maybe you could tell them on Twitter or something.

Manu does great amazing combo hits him on the run moving to basket or gets a nice shot for himself and/or 3 point shooter.
Parker can't seem to hit him unless he is standing still next to basket and the big man has rotated to help on Parker (still effective but could be better).
Ghill completely ignores him just tries to take the shot himself no matter how open he is.
Neal if he chooses not to shoot usually just passes is to someone on the other team no matter how open he is.

Thank you. Too many posters on here have that grass is greener on the other side mentatlity. I thank Pop for all the success he's had here and making us one of the most respected teams in the NBA for almost 15 years. I guess most people forget the likes of Bob Hill, John Lucas, Cotton Fitzsimmons, Bob Weiss. Now those were some seriously bad coaches.
