View Full Version : Mark my words - Grizz will blow Spurs out in G6

stretch
04-28-2011, 01:04 PM
This series is playing out almost identically to the Mavs GS series.

GS won game 1, going back and forth most of the game pulling away in the end, much like Memphis did.

Dallas won game 2, as did SA

Dallas lost a close game and a blowout in GS, just like SA lost a close game and a blowout in Memphis

Dallas seemed to pretty much have lost game 5, but somehow pulled off an amazing win with some bizzare shots hit by Dirk and Harris, much like Spurs looked like they had the game lost last night, but were saved by wild late scores by Ginobili and Neal.

People thought after the miraculous win, that GS would be stunned and may have a really hard time recovering mentally for game 6, and would have no chance if it went to a game 7. People were dead wrong, as Dallas got their shit pushed in at GS in game 6.

Therefore San Antonio will kick their asses kicked in game 6.

Why couldn't you have said this before the series started? Ohhh you wanted to wait until there was a possibility you'd be correct. Ok.

The only thing the Spurs have in common with the Mavericks is being in the same state. Otherwise....fuck everything about what you're saying.

By that logic the Wade and the Heat should have gotten the broom like LeBron did after two thoroughly dominating performances by the Mavs on their homecourt to take a 2-0 series lead.

I have a huge feeling the Spurs will eventually win Game 6 tbh. Neal's shot was a huge confidence booster for the Spurs. I really think it rejuvenated their spirits and gave them a sense of hope.

I can't say for sure who wins Game 7 though, Its a toss up IMO but the Spurs will get some calls their way and I feel that will keep the game close.

ZBo is their best player. Also I wouldn't just assume a healthy Rudy Gay means an easy win for the Grizzlies at this point, as he might have shot them out of games or been nervous or any other of dozens of different factors he would bring to the equation.

I give props to this Grizzlies club, regardless. They are playing very, very intensely and working every possible match-up in their favor - like experienced pros, even though by and large, they're not.

It is hypocritical to assume the Spurs win Game 1 with Manu (to anyone who would). This 1-8 series has been one of the most intense first round series of the last several years.

One can assume that G6 will be intense as hell, though, and I highly doubt either side will get a lead above 7-9 points.

Disagree - first Gay is not their best player - second I wish Gay was playing as he is nowhere near the defender that Allen or Battier are - If Gay was healthy they probably never make Battier deal, but bottom line is is Gay would mean less Young,Allen, and/or Battier not to mention Gay at times dominates the ball and takes questionable shots which would most likely mean less shots for Gasol/Randolph again a good thing for the Spurs

Just thought yall should know, that I'm loving every single second of this, "Spurs are gonna lose" "Spurs are gonna get skullfucked" You genuinely feel that way, & not only is it pathetic, but it only makes us as fans feel better, and instills more hope.

The Spurs are not the Mavericks, & Grizzlies are not the Warriors. The Spurs are gonna go into Tennessee, ready for war, because we ain't no punk team.

& fuck Rudy Gay, over-rated player whose presence would probably only jeopardize the Grizzlies chances of winning. Him not being in the game allows their front-court all offensive responsibilities, which makes it much harder for the Spurs.

InTheCrust
04-28-2011, 02:27 PM
If Rudy Gay didn't get injured, they'd be sticking their foot up Dallas' ass because they wouldn't be the 8th seed.

You can throw hypotheticals any which way, but right now it is what it is.

That being said, one of two things will happen. Either San Antonio's season has become zombified after Neal summoned them from the basketball netherworld, or Memphis is too oblivious to realize they just blew a golden opportunity and play like it was nothing.

Rummpd
04-28-2011, 02:28 PM
Spurs almost one game one without Manu and have had a few bad quarters and formerly a brain dead coach who was not playing Splitter. They can and should win game 6 as:

1) They now have Splitter playing and addition by subtraction with less Blair and Bonner;
2) The best player on the court in Manu;
3) A revived Tony Parker; and
4) Gary Friggin Stones Neal and George the Clutch Hill

Spurs have a real shot of still winning this series.

:lol yeah 20 ppg scorer on 47% FG and 40% really hurts the team!

Look no doubt Gay is a very good player who was probably having his best year in terms of efficiency - but after his injury and the subsequent Battier trade this team is better in three areas:

1. already good defensive team got even better esp perimeter defense on wing
2. More physical
3. became a inside 1st team

All three of these are attributes that usually translate into playoff success. I am not necessarily arguing that Memphis is better team without Gay but I do believe they are a tougher matchup for the Spurs playing their current style and I think it would be a different series overall in terms of physical play.
