No, that's Joey. Dan hates the Mavs.

Salvatore is the worst ref in professional sports.

He makes Russian Olympic judges appear objective.

Could be a long night.

Hopefully Danny Crawford balances him out.

Salvatore is the worst non-FIBA ref in professional sports.

Could be a long night.

Fixed. :lol

Salvatore doesn't seem to be influenced by home crowds, so if he screws the Spurs it will be due to incompetence and not home-court advantage.

The best thing for the Spurs to do will be to play well enough for the refs not to be a factor.

A gift for the spurs

Again the game will be officiated close to the previous game.

Joey will be stalking, with his ref shirts and panty hose stacked neatly on a Memphis motel bed, just in case.

I actually think it's fairly likely now that Javie will have Game 7 of this series, should it come to pass.

But I'm almost 100% certain it's either Javie or Joey if the Spurs can get there.

Bennett Salvatore on the road is a bad thing. He might be the ref most easily intimidated by the home crowd. And with this series as physical as it is, he's sure to turn this into a free throw shooting contest. Hopefully Dan Crawford can help to cancel him out. He's pretty much the polar opposite in terms of crowd influence and free throws.

FromWayDowntown

My one major concern with Dan Crawford is that the Spurs have really struggled in games that he's officiated this year. They're 2-4 this season in the 6 games he called:

10/30/10 v. NO (L 90-99)
11/26/10 v. DAL (L 94-103)
12/26/10 v. WAS (W 94-80)
2/11/11 @ PHI (L 71-77)
3/4/11 v. MIA (W 125-95)
3/31/11 v. BOS (L 97-107)

The Spurs lost 5 games at home all season and 3 of those 5 were games that Dan Crawford called.

I don't think so, the last two games he officiated, the home team lost and there were only 24 FTs by both teams home team won by 3 in other game and only 16(home team) and 27 FTs in other game.

He does not give a crap what home crowd does.

Haven't developed the FT numbers yet, but since 2008, Salvatore has called 44 playoff games; home teams are 29-15 in those games.

Dan Carwford rather not
Salvatore I don't know.

The thing is the refs are having meeting and speaking how they want to call game in general.

FUCK!

Salvatore is a cock sucker...

The only thing that might be a plus is if the combined reffing crew decides to call it very-very close on BOTH teams....since the grizz thrive on HACKING...

It would be a plus....

But hoping for fair reffing in an NBA playoff game is like pissing in the wind.

Does Phillips avoid accusations of state bias by going out of his way to screw over Texas' NBA teams?

I have a good feeling about this crew.

From what I can recently recall, Salvatore has been pretty good and fair to the spurs. Crawford has always been excellent in both his reffing ability and his impartiality.

Dunno bout Phillips but he's a Texan, so that could be an advantage.

Bennett 'Fucking' Salvatore.

Gonna be a game of shitty officiating with him in the house.

Seeing Dick Bavetta woulda probably been worse as then we would know there would be 10,000 free throws shot. With the way we have shot them, that would really fuck us.

Just want to remind people that Phillips is the guy that tossed Pop the last time the Spurs faced Memphis in the regular season. It was his no call when Manu got kneed in the thigh by Marc Gasol, that irked Pop.
That guy blew like he liked Bear Cock.

In previous years, that would have never happened this early in the playoffs. But Salvatore isn't a crew chief in the 2011 playoffs. So, D. Crawford is the chief and Salvatore is just on the crew.
