The Spurs saved millions by giving him millions of dollars over more years...somehow. It's a good deal, don't question it.

We knew the Spurs wouldn't be able to beat anyone without him. That's just been proven true.

10 minutes.

It's very obvious that the organization is willing to ship his ass out. Why would they want to keep a weak link, that only plays 10min in a elimination game, who makes 10mil a year.

Will he be traded probably not because of his contract.

Because Pop replaced RJ's sorry ass at the beginning of the 2nd half, I think that probably says everything we need to know about his future in S.A.

I'm thoroughly convinced that Danny Green could've done a better job that RJ did in this series. Sounds crazy, but I hardly believe that Green could've been as bad - or even worse.

more than being traded, he needs to get a couple of balls somewhere. Inmediate surgery if you ask me.

Who would want that soft ass for 3y/30m ? hahahahaha

Who cares if we saved money this year. Dick doesn't fit here.

I'm tired of these morons saying that we saved money this season resining him. HE IS A BAD FIT. HE SHOULDN'T BE SIGNED EVEN FOR THE MINIMUM.

GOTTA THAT OR I HAVE TO DRAW IT ?

Pop and RC worst move alll time. This is worst than Scola trade. Sign this piece of shit for $40 million. A guy you can't even put on the floor in the 2nd half of a elimination game.

Jefferson = worst Spurs ever

Good luck on trading his contract. Its going to take some major pieces in the deal to get a team to bite on that.

Terrible move to resign him. Completely reverted to last year at the end of the season. Sad but too late to worry about now.

RJ can be the main scorer on a rebuilding team, but considering the Spurs absolutely have to deal both George Hill and Blair I think they should try to package him with one of those 2.

If someone wants Hill or Splitter or Neal or Blair, they might be willing to take Dick's contract to get the other player but who the heck are they going to give us that makes that kind of coin?

Even if they have to pay a portion of the contract to send him off, I think he's gone. Him being benched in the 2nd half was no coincidence imo.

It did speak volumes that when George Hill fouled out, Danny Green came in rather than RJ.

You would think that, but who in the hell is going to take him? There are too many better players who cost less than 1/2 the price.

God, I hope so.

I want to be pissed off at RJ, but it's not his fault that he's here.

Pop and RC are to blame. RJ was never a fit here. I knew they were off their rocker, when Pop talked about RJ "helping to fill the defensive hole that Bruce left". Huh? Are you kidding me? Talk about your misevaluations. RJ isn't even an average defender.

I don't know who else was available a couple of summers ago, but this was not the answer.

Why the Spurs did what they did is still beyond me. He was at worst an expiring deal whom they might have been able to move at the trade deadline, or just let him go at the end of the year. Instead, they were convinced somehow that basically bringing back last year's team was good enough if Parker, Manu, and Duncan rested over the summer.

What happened to him? He was solid most of the season. Bounced back after slumps better than ever but he was MIA in the playoffs. Fell right off a cliff never to be seen again.

Sadly, Finley played better than he has in the playoffs.

The same thing that happens to Vince Carter in the playoffs.....no wonder Kidd wanted out of NJ. Actually, to Carter's credit, he still TRIES to score and contribute.

The options they had were not good and they took the best bad option in RJ.

Jefferson is just a wasted roster space going forward.

The Spurs cannot afford to buy him out. They are stuck with him.

The rebuild will take at least 3-4 years. They will probably have to trade some of their young talent to get rid of RJ in the next year or so.

I wish they would get started on it in 60 days, but they will probably stand pat with on old broken down core. Management has to sell tickets next year and their best players are mostly past their prime.

Would have to see what options are out there, but perhaps the Spurs can find another bad contract with shorter duration/years to it to turn around and dump off.....Orlando was basically able to trade for Arenas stright up, though they still owe him money, but that's the only general example I can think of right now. As long as we get something in return if we have to part with a piece so be it, no way dude sees the floor next year even if he's still an employee.

He would have some value to a team that needs a shooter who can run the lanes on the break...Back to Mil, phx or nj maybe...Deal him for travis outlaw, at least outlaw can defend.

RJ, Spurs 2010 1st for Biedrins...

Heck, add Bonner and Blair and get back Dorrel Wright as well.

They'll find a way. It will hurt. Not as bad as the Scola trade, but something like Hill, Blair, or one or more of our other young assets to make it happen.

In the past I would have scoffed at a Tony trade, but after the Barry ordeal, I soured on him a bit. That's a shitty thing to do to a friend. If he was traded, he could end up possibly in LA or NY.

well I don't know how many shitty SF contracts are out there, cause that's the only way Spurs can get rid of RJ, without giving anyway any young pieces, but I'll be more that happy to get rid of Blair, or Hill if it means getting a legit scoring small forward, who can play at least decent D.

Actually, the reason it's worse is because you know RJ has the tools... he can jump, he can run... when he really tries, he's active... Bonner wishes he had 1/3 of the athletic ability or talent...
