I have been thinking about how Detroit will start this series, and I have come to the conclusion that they will go at TD with a quick double team early, to set the tone inside. Therefore, Nazr better be ready for some dunks after receiving interior passes from Tim. I look for Nazr to have at least 4 baskets in 1st quater alone Thursday night.

After they stop coming off of Nazr, either TD will get more baskets or Bruce, Manu, Brent or Parker will have some open looks and will knock down the shots.

All this will lead to 10 assists for TD, which added to his usual double doubles, means, TD will have his 2nd Triple-Double (Back to Back) in the NBA Finals.

I think they won't double team TD until late in the game. Unless their bigs get in foul trouble early.

Bet me! Here is my prediction.. whoever is closer wins an apology from the other.

TD - 26 points, 8 boards, 5 assists

BW - 14 points, 15 boards, 5 blocks

Duncan won't come close to 10 assists. He will get his points and rebounds, and im sure a double double every game but he won't be a passer.

We barely doubled Shaq, why would we double Duncan when we like our matchup?

Duncan usually hold Wallace out of the boards pretty well, so I would say
TD: 23 pts, 16 reb, 3 assists, 4 blks
BW: 7 pts, 8 rebs, 1 assist (probably 0), and 4 blks

I don't think TD will have double digit assists because I think he'll pass it out and they will start passing it around the arc. Also I didn't like some of those passes out of double teams he had in the later part of the Pho. series.

Obviously you dont watch the Pistons much. Ben is usually good for 3 or 4 assists a good game, which he will have in game 1. Until Shaq, Ben had something like 90% of his playoff games with atleast 10 rebounds.

Im predicting:

TD: 22pts (% in low 40's), 12 reb, 3 assists, 2 blks
BW: 8 pts, 14 rebs, 3 assists, 3 blks

Um, newsflash: The Pistons wouldnt double SHAQ. What exactly makes you think they'll double duncan?

If I were the Pistons, I might consider throwing doubles at Tim about half of the time he gets the ball on the block. He's not as good of a passer as Shaq, and often double teams force him to give up the ball.

Yeah...a TD for TD...something he rarely if ever does.....The pisterns won't double TD and stay at home agains the shooters...just like they did with the Lakers. If Malone can "contain" TD like he did last year, I don't think the Wallaces will have any real difficulty. Now, I do know that Duncan will play well, but not dominate. Anyways, he's not about domininating games, it's about team play. Usually when TD as a huge scoring game the rest of the team struggles.

That will be a reactionary thing, though.

They'll leave Rasheed Wallace on him all game 1, and if he does any kind of real damage, Larry will switch things up. But the Pistons philosophy is never to double-team the post, and make the role players score 1 on 1.

Guys like Bowen, Horry, Udrich and and Barry won't get any open looks all series, and it will hurt any rythem they might get. Thats much better than slowing down duncan a little more.
