I'm hoping this kid can come help the Spurs and finally replace Bonner.

Bring him in. It's not like the Spurs are contenders anymore. Minutes are going to be plentiful.

:hungry:

Still excited about the kid's measurables and hope what he's done overseas translates. Pop gave Blair more minutes and even a starting position in his 2nd year and I think Splitter will get more time to develop. My only gripe with him was not integrating Splitter in earlier even after his injury, but I'm looking forward to seeing what the youngsters bring to the table....Anderson had a great start too.

actually ryan richards is a rebounder, something matt is not, a shot blocker, matt is not and a better all around player

Actually, he hasn't played in an NBA game, so let's see that first.

Summer/D-league first, hopefully he isn't locked in for international play this offseason or at least that it doesn't run into or take away from Summer league play.

I'm pretty sure Ryan Richards is way better than Matt Bonner at the same age. He has lot more upside at 20 years old.

His hook looks better than Tiago's, then again so does mine.

What's the deal? Have something to do with the uncertainty of the coming NBA labor situation?

I agree, the problem is our damn coach! He needs to let these players develop throughout the season. Not in game 4 as in the case of Splitter.

Well, Dice is likely out and RJ is done (getting any real minutes imo) and he's given minutes to Hill (minus the playoff debacle in 2009), Blair, Neal andeven Anderson early this season. I think we'll see some youth infusion coming up but I'm probably annoying the hell out of everyone with my optimisim. :lol

I think the Spurs have a lot of good young pieces when Duncan retires the drop will not be significant.

Yeah, no summer league, no summer internships in NY/NJ, no training camp abroad and no preseason games in Europe.

Agreed. As of right now we don't know much about his play style. Other than a youtube highlight video of him owning up high schoolers, we don't know anything about this guy... well maybe just his size and athleticism.

Hopefully he's closer to a Cliff Robinson than he is to a Matt Bonner.

This dude is not the solution. He wouldn't even help us.

Next.

Thanks Kori. Wow, that sucks....so that's why he's so committed to playing international ball in the summer. Hopefully they can get back to the table prior to June 30th and hammer something out, maybe even resurrect those plans and push back the dates. Would hate to see the NBA go through another lockout only a little over a decade removed from the last one and go the way of the NFL (who still can't seem to figure out what they're going to do to steal more money from the players and spread around to ownership).

Crossing my fingers, I think this kid could be a steal and will stick by that.

No Splitter is a major part of the future. You don't see many bigs at any level doing the things Richards can do. I see a lot of potential more than others bigs the Spurs have had. He seems pretty confident much like Tony Parker when he was young. I'm not saying he is the solution, but with little cap space and no real trade assets there is not to many options.
