Iphone hardcores will rush to whatever Apple sends out.... no surprise at the numbers. they can stick an apple on a TI82 and call it the Iphone 5 and it would sell by the millions :toast

They doubled last year's same quarter as well as HTC's total sales. That's insane.

Totally agree, has nothing to do with the quality of their hardware and software...

I read somewhere that Apple still considers that a loss on their part because they lacked the capabilities to produce more.

I'm waiting for iPhone 5, but I hear it could be a disappointment with no "4G" support.

why wouldn't you buy an iphone? I bought the first one in 2007 and every year I upgrade to a new, unlock and jailbreak my old one, and sell it for more than I paid for it. Getting paid to upgrade your phone every year to the newest model doesn't suck one bit. I love it and will ride it as long as the market lasts.

I'm still waiting to see if it'll have LTE support and if the networks will even have their next level networks (LTE for example) in place for the launch. I'm hoping that could be a factor in the delay too as an Iphone 5 running LTE would kick all kinds of ass.

Maybe they should stop suing their manufacturers :p:

Really? Admittedly I haven't been reading up much on it, but it was my understanding that they were pretty well stocked in most stores.

Edit: Ah, it appears they had a problem with the speakers and the LCD that prevented a lot of the iPad 2's from making it to shelves.

My 4 has slowly degraded into a giant piece of shit. Dropping more calls than ever before, running slow as shit even after back-up/restore. my 3GS runs better and I usually use that one for an important call.

Thinking of going to a Droid for at least one of them.

Not gonna stop you from switching, but I haven't experienced the same with my 4... just throwing the idea of maybe heading to an Apple store and getting an appointment with one of the Genius... they should be able to assist you, and if there's a hardware issue and your phone is still under warranty they might just replace it for you.

I had some reception issues with my 4, signal strength in my house was half of what it used to be while my roomate had full bars. I got it swapped out, and it's back to working fine.

I gotta give Apple credit on that front. When I had my 3G, I was out camping with my DSLR bag on my lap, sitting on a golf cart. This idiot decides that it would be cool if he climbed across the golf cart for no reason at all. He landed right on the spot where the phone was (luckily my D50 was ok), and when I went to use my phone later, it was behaving really strangely, and the home button didn't work. Called up Apple and talked to them... they sent me a refurbished (but basically new) iPhone 3G at no charge. Did kind of suck that they wanted a $300 or $400 security deposit until they got the old phone back, but still... I got a working phone out of the deal. :tu

I agree. I drop calls left and right, like it's nobody's business. Then I usually crush my phone on accident and have to go out to buy a new one.

But Glen Rice once said that having small hands helps with shooting accuracy

Props to Apple for completely replacing my iPhone 4 today. The lock button wouldn't work, so they replaced the whole thing. Let's see if overall performane improves.
