I think Memphis wins Gm1. They're playing at an all time high in terms of confidence and chemistry.
I'd like to see how M. Gasol will play against Perkins and how Tony Allen and Battier will guard Durant.

OKC has to eliminate points in the paint from cutters. They have defenders that can crowd Randolph. Although, it looks like Joey Crawford isn't going to allow that. Run Durant threw screens to shed wing defenders, and get some open looks to get in a rhythm. Westbrook has to get into the paint under control and get to the line, and create for others.

So if Memphis gets past OKC that doesn't solidify that they weren't much better than an actual 8th seed? Of course it changes the situation. There's a reason Seattle and Dallas are viewed far worse than Miami, when it comes to 1st seeds who lost.
In fact, this Memphis team has far more in common with a team like the 99 Knicks than it does with either of the other two. They definitely aren't a gimmick Golden State, thats for sure.

But if they do? Its only one half and its only game one, but what if they do? Then obviously they're not a regular 8th seed.

I think the frontline of OKC will eventually wear down ZBo and Gasol. If those two aren't playing well, Memphis has no chance
Z-Bo won't wear down. I've watched him for a long time and he just doesn't wear down. He doesn't jump so why would he? He just uses his big ass and moves people around.

There are a lot of reasons they're the 8th seed. Many of those reasons have nothing to do with the current make-up and psychology of this team.

Pretty much. They saw the soft-ass Spurs in the first and a Thunder team they beat 3/4 times in the second, and thought that looked better than the side of the bracket with Bynum and Gasol.

I just don't see them making that much noise after the SA series. It's a superstar's league and they don't have a true superstar, while OKC has one (two if you wanna include Westbrook). OKC is also a much more physical team than the Spurs were and I think that Ibaka/Perkins/Mohammed will wear down Randolph and Gasol throughout the series.

Dice was laying out suckas, Bonner was clawing people. The Spurs were playing at a physical level I haven't seen in a couple years. Ibaka works for perimeter bigs like Odom and Dirk, but in the post he's toast with fatasses like Gasol and Zbo. There only hope is if Perk can somehow neutralize either Gasol or Zbo because he's the only one with girth to at least bother either one. Nazr and Ibaka are too skinny for Zbo and Pau's little fat brother.

It was crazy how good '99 DRob and Duncan were. Factor in Mario Elie's and Malik Rose's toughness, Elliott's defense and range from downtown, Jaren Jackson's Gary-neal-like shooting, Will Purdue's 7-foot competence and AJ's leadership.
