You gotta take your hat off to Duncan and Dyss. They played better defenese on their front court then the younger more atheletic OKC are so far in game 1.We would've beaten OKC.Too bad Manu got hurt.If grizz win today they will win the series

Perhaps we didn't suck as bad as I thought. I'm impressed with what they are doing to the Thunder.

Makes me feel a little better. They're making the Thunder interior look just as turrible as ours, and they don't have Bonner to blame for that one.

Our defense overall looks a lot better then OKCs in these series and Duncan and Dice defended Zbo and Gasol better then Perkins and Ibaka in this game 1.

All of a sudden we dont look as bad as we thought. Memphis is looking like a team going to the finals. They have wing defenders galore and two inside presences a classic formula to get to the finals.

There is no way that OKC's front line can compete with Memphis's front line. They would get pwned every time.

I wonder what that knucklehead Mike Taylor will have to say since he insisted OkC would destroy Memphis.

I'm feeling like a knucklehead myself. I'm stuck on Memphis being Memphis...hard to believe they turned their franchise around. Oh well. It doesn't change the fact that San Antonio needs to upgrade our front line. I wish like hell that Dice would come back in some capacity.

If Tim's suckage was due to his ankle then maybe he'll finish his career next year. If not, I'm ok with him retiring and us getting the cap space. It's got to start some time. It would have been nice to see him get some interior help. Splitter still has a lot to learn about toughness and rebounding at the NBA level. He's got great footwork and passing skills though.

I was listening to that clown Taylor when I was on business in the SA area a couple of weeks ago.

He dressed as a woman for some Ticket 760 promotion. He is a clown trying to be funny. He often fails.

I hate the thought of a rebuild job after being instant contenders for every year Duncan has been here. It's just weird. However, the bad knees have robbed Timmy of his quickness around the basket. It's painfully obvious now.

I assume the FO will try to give it one more go next year if everyone comes back (aside from Antonio M.) I don't see the outcome being alot different from this year given the age of two of our top three players.

Manu, Tim, and Tony deserve the chance for a last roundup in 2011-12 if they chose. The rebuilding would be delayed a year.

The 2012-13 Spurs could be very different. I want to get to a home game early next year in SA just so I can see our big three one last time. The end for that group is not far away, I'm sad to say.

What fucking series were you guys watching? Duncan played great defense, but he can't defend an entire team by himself, and it's not really his fault that he didn't get enough minutes. The Grizzlies are big and strong and athletic at almost every position. If you want to play defense, and you do, Duncan's still a perfect guy to build around for several more years.

grizzlies are not going to the finals. they are just taking down all laker opposition as instructed. then they will lay down and let the lakers rape them when they meet in the WCF. i'm only semi kidding too. if the grizzlies take out the thunder and meet the lakers in the WCF, they will let the lakers sweep them. that's why they are the lakers' farm team.

The Lakers don't exactly have an easy matchup. They'll have to play a lot better than they did against the shitty Hornets to beat Dallas. The Grizzlies do the things the Lakers want to do, but they do it better from every position and are way deeper.

That said, it would be interesting to see Marc play poorly in the conference finals only to sign with the Lakers in the offseason...

In all seriousness, Marc Gasol looks like the real deal. Can't really bitch about that trade anymore, even though nobody would have fuckin guessed that at the time.

If Gasol turns out to be a hall of famer, you can say that the Grizzlies got lucky, but there's no way to justify the one-sidedness of that trade.

It's already been justified by the fact that the Spurs have gone fishin. Just sayin.

we had no chance with our wack-ass big rotation. that's seriously one of the worst we've ever had going against the beastie boys of memphis.

oh and lol popovich bitching about the gasol trade....worry about your own roster......

As good as Randolph/Gasol were - we didn't get beat by their front line. Everybody knew that was a Grizz advantage coming into the series regardless.

We got beat by the Grizz hitting jumpers and defending jumpers at rates much better than what they showed at any point during the regular season. Odds are that they come crashing back to earth on that sooner than later - but I don't really know who beats them if they don't.

Memphis will beat OKC. They are playing better as an overall team. Conley is playing better than Westbrook and Memphis's frontline is bettr than OKC.

What is wrong with Splitter's neck in your avatar?
It looks like it is way too long and out of proportion. Like a freak.

Ibaka's still pretty raw, and Perkins is an over-rated role player - that's the key. Perkins is a cog in the wheel, a team-defense guy and not Bill Russell FFS.

This is a good matchup for Memphis. They've got the advantage in the paint and lock-down perimeter defense. They can't stop Durant, but they can shut everyone else down. Looks like the NBA's two best frontlines will meet in the next round.

I seriously pick this grizz team to win it all, if they continue to play the way they are playing now.

They are just on fire.

The won't be able to rule the paint so easily against LA's triple towers. Odom probably being the key in that matchup.

Memphis are a very good team. That's why i wanted Manu playing injured elbow and all from game one. A strong front court and a tough defensive unit.

Ya i know spilt milk .

Spurs fans that thought the grizzlies are an easy out are the same ones under-valuing this spurs team that got beat.

That's exactly what we though after the 1st game against the Spurs :lol
I don't see any "Thunder" come back. The truth is that, despite adding Perkins, they're not a good defensive team. Ibaka is a good shot blocker and he will continue blocking Z-Bo's shots. But notice that most of the time, Z-Bo gets the offensive rebound back and end up scoring or getting fouled.

Ibaka is only there to match up against the Odoms and Dirks of the world, but too bad OKC will not advance to face the Lakers.

Chris Bosh has a crazy long neck also and had turned out to be a decent player. Also, Elden Cambell had Giraffe neck and was a good role player at times. I think this all bodes well for Splitter's future.

Ibaka wiped him out last year. He was nowhere to be found. Bynum will be the key if we get there.
