you know it's a great trailer when it captivates someone who has never given a shit about any comics, especially X-Men. I'm honestly not familiar with any X-Men character except Wolverine and I still think this looks badass

I'm super-excited for it, as well. I really hope Michael Fassbender does a good Magneto, since, if any one thing was going to make or break it for me, it'd be that.

Looks really good. If it's as good as the trailer it'll easily be better than the previous X-Men movies.

When I saw the trailer, I thought the Magneto actor looked really familiar but couldn't figure out what other film I've seen him in. Had to look him up to find out he was Stelios from 300.

The international trailer #2 is much better than the previous ones, and I like the director, so I'll give it a try. Still looks kinda weak tho, for me it all rests in how they treat the supporting X-men that aren't Xavier or Magneto cuz I'm bored of them.

See, I'm the opposite. But I think this movie may be aimed more towards people like me who haven't been into X Men before. So by doing so they must put the 2 most central characters, and most badass as far as powers go, front and center with their history and really sell THEM

He was also the ignoramus Brit that got himself and 3 of my best basterds killed fightin in a fuckin basement.

That Brit was the coolest part of the movie. The bar scene when everyone realizes what's going on and they're pretty much all fucked, he just lights a cigarette and says "well if this is it, old boy, I hope you don't if I go out speaking the kings?" then gets his drink "There's a special rung in hell reserved for people who waste good scotch. And seeing as how I might be rapping on the door momentarily...(drinks)...I must say, damn good stuff, sir. Now about this pickle we find ourselves in. It would appear there's only one thing left for you to do" and then it all goes to hell

Fucking highlight of the entire movie. TBH Brad Pitt was the worst part of the movie. The goofiest, stupidest, most forced character I've ever seen.

Its true but mainly because of the huge Avengers movies coming together. That being said, they've figured out how to make these movies and do them well. Marvel is doing really really well right now.

Everything that I've seen from Marvel after XMen Origions Wolveine has been good.

Just so ya'll niggas know this isn't a Marvel movie it's a 20th century fox movie. The only reason it got made was because if fox doesn't release an xmen movie every 2 or 3 (don't remember the exact number to be honest)years. Than fox loses the movie rights of xmen to Marvel studios. That's why there aren't really any big names attached. This movie was basically filler to give them time to make Wolverine 2. Same agreement with sony and spider man.

I'm afraid the Wolverine movies have lost any potential to live up to the legendary comic book hero now that Aronofsky has pulled out.

I go to maybe 1 movie a month on average. I have long droughts between movies but even when I got a lot of the time its only like 5 bucks cause I go during the day while I have time to kill.

Pretty cheap, IMO.

MannyIsGod

Best XMen movie to date, IMO. Special effects weren't as well done as I would have liked (first big Magneto scene had effects that were downright bad, I think) but really the fights themselves between certain mutants were really solid.

Character development is awesome though. They do an excellent job with the Xavier Magneto story and while it slows down a bit halfway through when they start to introduce more mutants it never gets bad. Its more of the fact that they start off so strong that it is almost impossible to keep it at such a high level.

I only watched the cartoon on Fox as a kid and I didn't read the comics but this movie felt like it did such a good job "caring" about the characters. Would have liked better special effects but anytime they focus on characters I can live with them being average or even below average.

Oh yeah, good cameos too. The little bits of comic homage were cool too. Oh and first comic book movie I've seen where there was no after credits scene in a long time.

Isn't the Nazi guy who tried to get Magneto to do evil (and shot and killed his mother) the same as Sebastian Shaw?

If so, how come he didn't age 20 years later? In fact he looks much younger then when he was the Nazi.

I'm okay with it. I mean, I know that in the books, Shaw has, himself, stated that he has a limit, but it also wouldn't be unreasonable to think that as long he's been around and active in the context of the film, he would have developed a certain level of control over it.

Great movie. Much more drama involved with just enough action to keep those hungry for it interested. Hit a bit of a lull in the middle but picked right back up when the mutants started learning to control their powers. Very well casted movie. The chemistry was great between Fassbender and McAvoy. Fassbender could seriously be Viggo Mortensen's son. Dude looks just like him. McAvoy is a very good young actor. I think we will be seeing a lot of him in the near future.

Ok I never had an interest in X-men so I never watched them. Oddly enough one of my friends was watching a cartoon version of x-men that came out in the 90's (i was like to young to remember)on dvd. So I kinda liked it and requested to watch a few more he had on a dvd cause I liked the story line :lol

So if I never read a comic book will I still "get" the movie? I plan now to watch all the movies in order hopefully it turns out good.

Not quite on par with The Dark Knight or Batman Begins, which IMO are the two best "superhero" movies, but out of all the superhero movies, I'd say its right behind those two, alongside X2 and Spiderman 2.

I thought this one was actually memorable, don't remember much from old ones although its been awhile.

Girl from Bridemaids and Get Him to the Greek is Rose Byrne. I thought she was a mutant from the trailer but she plays a CIA agent who ends up helping the mutants. She's a good actress but I thought she was a bit underused and apparently her character in the comics is suppose to be a Scottish genetics expert.

McAvoy is actually in his 30s already but yeah, looking forward to seeing him and Fassbender in the future.

Very very good. Way better than I imagined. Once again the previews deceived me.

They did a bad ass job exploring the whole Professor X/Magneto dichotomy of opinion.

My only scoff is that the only black guy in the entire movie was a mutant and was pretty much the only guy they showed that died on screen. I found that especially lame seeing as how this was a movie about segregation and prejudice.

The actor that played Magneto totally stole the show. I had no idea he'd put up such a bad ass performance. A+ for that actor. If only they could make movies like this rated R, and showed more vulgar violence when he was acing people...but it was still pretty tight.

Best of the X-Men films. I think this will hold up well even after multiple viewings on blu-ray. Fassbender was excellent as Magneto; Kevin Bacon made a convincing villain; and January Jones was hot as Emma Frost. There will definitely be a sequel but I'm not sure how you can top the Cuban Missile Crisis.

No way Wolverine fucking blew goats.

Origins > 2 > 3 > 1 > Wolverine

3 would have been the best hands down, had they made Magneto's usage of Jean Grey more believable and not outright retarded. Also Magneto could have flung the bridge at alcatraz and destroyed that kid but choose to sit there and let his whole team get destroyed. Plus the way they portrayed Juggernaut was fucking stupid. They wasted one of the most dominant forces in X-Men lore, and relegated him to being a mutant.

The Wolverine cameo was pretty funny in origins. It got some cheers from the crowd.
