http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/Billboards-proclaim-end-of-the-world-this-month-121227029.html

DALLAS — May 21 is less than three weeks away. That's when a growing number of billboards predict the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Many of the signs say "SAVE THE DATE," with others stating "Judgment Day: May 21, 2011." The signs have been bought and posted by about a half dozen loosely affiliated groups that all believe that the world will end on May 21.
One such billboard is located off Interstate 30 near Cockrell Hill; another high-profile one is located off Interstate 35 in Dallas, with 16 others spread throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
But, the campaign isn't just on the side of the road, with supporters driving across country to spread the message.
Allison Warden, a 29-year-old payroll clerk from North Carolina, said her family bought some of the billboards. The campaign offers free downloadable graphics for anyone who would like to do the same. She estimated that there are over 530 such billboards across the country put up by different groups.
While Warden said she believes the prediction, she has kept her day job, for now.
Project Caravan has taken the campaign across the country with five recreational vehicles.
"This has been going around for the last 2,000 years," said Pastor Mike Ramsdell, with the First United Methodist Church in Mansfield.
Ramsdell said he is concerned about the project since he believes some people may have sold their possessions in order to afford the billboards.
"Well, Jesus for one thing, he said that no one knows the time or the hour but God," he said. "So, anyone that says they know the time or the hour, they're not doing what Jesus said. He also said that there will be people that come along that will say this is the time and the hour, and he said don't listen to them."

If 21 May turns out to be NOT LITERALLY TRUE, how will fucktard Bible-thumpers "rationalize" the UNTRUTH of the Bible (not saying that Bible-thumpers are rational in any sense).

IIRC, 6 days = 144 hours has been denied in this forum as not literally true of how long their God labored to create the universe a few 1000 years ago. Seems like the Bible-thumper cherry pick the Bible as to what's literally, inerrantly true.

So far, end-of-worlders are zero-for-X predictions. Sounds like the kind of people whose lead we all ought to be following.

Most "Bible Thumpers," if they've even heard about this, think this group is full of shit. So I'm pretty sure there's not going to be much reaction either way.

"Our prayers were answered, God spared us until next May 21st! Remember to leave your donations at the door with Bob, and make sure you pick up your "I survived Judgement Day" t-shirt on the way out. See you next year!"

Personally, I always liked the Relativistic explanation (difference in speed causing differing perspectives of time, etc).

I always took that to mean he put the steps in motion for those things to happen. But it's not like I'm even Christian so whatever.

Pretty amazing when you consider that the guy leading this charge has already done this before and been wrong.

There were several groups of them outside Cowboys Stadium at the Super Bowl. Kids and everything.

well his flyer does have one caveat:

There is a slight possibility God might forgive humankind and not end the world. So we must pray on!

:lol I didn't see that. So when the world doesn't end, he's going to claim victory.

I think we need a call to arms to sin as much as possible on May 20 so there can be no claim that God spared the world because it became righteous.

See you guys in the big orgy pile.

Ah yes. the rapture.

Youre late at bringing it up:

3/2/11 (http://spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5019607&postcount=431)

5/21/11 is the rapture. Heard it on Coast to Coast AM yesterday, must be true.

3/14/11 (http://spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5053948&postcount=755)

Clearly the end of the world
Not yet. The rapture is 5/21/11. We still have almost 10 weeks. The world ends sometime after that.

3/30/11 (http://spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5093372&postcount=5)

Everyone knows the rapture is 5/21/11.... Just google the date!

4/20/11 (http://spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5153715&postcount=7)

That's OK since the rapture is next month.
